The Team and Role Overview:

Personal Work Space (PWS) is one of the major divisions of Logitech, consisting of the tech devices and apps that help people be at their creative and productive best in their workspace.

The Lead Mechanical Engineer will take charge of the mechanical design and development of innovative consumer products in the PWS organization from the product front end through to mass production, with a focus on delivering a superior user experience. You will ensure production maturity while optimizing performance, cost, quality, reliability, regulatory, and safety goals.

You will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team (industrial/CMF design, electronics, optical, audio, embedded software) and integrate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to deliver high-quality solutions while coaching and mentoring junior team members.

You will be based in our Hsinchu office and report to the Mechanical Engineering Manager in Switzerland.

Your Contributions:
In this role, you will:

  • Lead user-centric mechanical designs, analyzing, documenting, and testing complex mechanical parts and assemblies for new products.
  • Optimize product designs for cost, performance, manufacturability, reliability, and quality enhancement while meeting project goals and exceeding expectations.
  • Ensure robust design processes, validate manufacturing readiness, and launch the development and qualification of plastic tooling and design debugging.
  • Drive design review processes and work closely with cross-functional and worldwide teams to validate results and ensure seamless product development.
  • Manage and coordinate with key operational teams including suppliers and manufacturing partners to optimize designs for mass production.
  • Implement best engineering practices such as Design for Manufacturing (DFM), FMEA (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis), tolerance analysis, and risk management tools.
  • Perform rapid prototyping, functional testing, and data analysis using advanced quality techniques.
  • Provide regular coaching and mentoring to junior team members.
  • Contribute to technology roadmap development and platform implementation.

  • Proven track record across the full design cycle from concept through MP with high-volume manufacturing processes, automation, design validation, and characterization.
  • Comprehensive understanding of capturing design intent, design reviews, simulation/data analysis, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Proficient in mechanical design and 3D CAD tools, specifically CREO - Pro/Engineer.
  • Rich knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials, including injection molded plastics, tooling, CNC machining, stamping, metal finishing, assembly processes, cosmetic finishes, and defect analysis.
  • Advanced knowledge of quality tools such as DFMEA, DFMA, geometrical tolerance knowledge, tolerance analysis, and statistical analysis.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English (both written and verbal) to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.

Desired Skills & Attributes

We are looking for someone who demonstrates:

  • Experience with FEA simulation software such as Ansys is a plus.
  • Mastery in problem-solving methodologies (8D, PDCA, DMAIC) and crisis management/hands-on troubleshooting for product technical issues.
  • Experience in project management and working effectively with multicultural, cross-functional teams.
  • Passion for innovation, especially in consumer goods technology integration.
  • Proactive, energetic, adaptable, curious, and committed to continuous personal and professional development.
