This requires a flexible approach and a willingness to travel regularly to maintain a visible presence with our design and project teams
  • Owning regional resource and capability planning, maintaining forward-looking workload and capacity plans, identifying risks and agreeing action to address resource surpluses, shortfalls and critical skills needs
  • Building and developing a high-performing team through regular performance and development conversations, coaching, mentoring, succession planning and timely management of performance issues.
  • Championing engineering safety and technical assurance, ensuring risks are identified and managed throughout the design lifecycle and that company procedures, engineering standards and governance are applied consistently
  • Partnering with project and engineering leaders to provide strategic input, resolve delivery challenges and align design priorities with regional and business objectives

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Experience of project engineering, systems engineering and the design, test or installation of safety-critical or safety-related real-time systems
  • Established professional credibility and substantial experience of engineering delivery across complex UK signalling schemes
  • Broad engineering knowledge across the full lifecycle, with the judgement to lead cross-disciplinary activity in complex, innovative and commercially challenging environments
  • A strong track record of leading people, setting direction, building capability and creating a culture of accountability, inclusion and high performance
