Junior Cloud Platform Engineer
Role Overview
In this role, you will join Lenovo’s UDS Cloud platform team and help build scalable cloud services and applications. You will work with engineers to develop APIs, microservices, event-driven systems, and automation that support Lenovo’s global products and platforms.
This role is ideal for an early-career engineer interested in cloud engineering, software development, and AI-assisted engineering who enjoys learning and working with new technologies.
What You’ll Do
- Build, test, and maintain cloud-based services and applications.
- Develop APIs, microservices, integrations, and event-driven workflows.
- Support CI/CD, automation, monitoring, logging, and cloud deployments.
- Write automated tests and troubleshoot software and production issues.
- Use AI-assisted engineering tools for coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
- Collaborate with global engineering, product, DevOps, security, and QA teams.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related field.
- 0–2+ years of software engineering experience; internships, academic projects, and other hands-on development experience are considered.
- Programming experience with Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, C#, or a similar language.
- Understanding of cloud development, APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Familiarity with databases, event-driven architecture, and data modeling.
- Basic knowledge of CI/CD, containers, monitoring, logging, and cloud deployment.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or another cloud platform.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SNS/SQS, Azure Service Bus, or similar technologies.
- Experience with REST, GraphQL, or gRPC APIs.
- Knowledge of cloud security, authentication, authorization, and secrets management.
- Experience with AI-assisted software engineering tools and techniques.
- Experience through open-source projects, hackathons, coding competitions, capstone projects, or similar technical projects.

- Quickly learn Lenovo’s UDS Cloud platform and engineering practices.
- Deliver reliable, well-tested, and documented code.
- Take ownership of problems and turn them into clear engineering solutions.
- Contribute to improving the reliability, scalability, and maintainability of Lenovo’s cloud platform.
