Job Summary
The IT Operations Support Student Intern will assist the IT Operations team in supporting daily technology-related activities and ensuring smooth and efficient IT services for internal users. The intern will gain hands-on experience in IT support, incident management, system monitoring, documentation, asset management, and operational processes while working closely with experienced IT professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-level support for basic hardware, software, and network-related concerns.
- Assist in monitoring and tracking IT incidents and service requests.
- Support user account administration activities, including account creation, modification, and deactivation.
- Help maintain and update IT documentation, user guides, and operational procedures.
- Assist in hardware and software inventory management and asset tracking.
- Perform routine system checks and report issues or abnormalities to the team.
- Support data gathering, report preparation, and operational metrics tracking.
- Assist with workstation setup, equipment deployment, and user onboarding activities.
- Participate in IT projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with company information security policies and IT operational standards.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities related to IT operations as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Must be eligible to undergo internship/OJT as required by the school.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, networking, and troubleshooting concepts.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems and common IT support tools is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
Preferred Skills
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi).
- Familiarity with ticketing systems or IT service management processes.
- Understanding of cybersecurity and data privacy principles.
- Basic knowledge of cloud technologies and collaboration tools.
