Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I) is the team behind the cloud. CO+I is responsible for delivering Microsoft web portals, Live and Online Services around the world including infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability. The ITIM Sub-regional lead will oversee the operational activities for the Central West Europe Subregion team. This includes the oversight of build contracting, design, execution, procurement and installation activities with safety at the forefront of mind. This role will manage both internal and external stakeholders on the program alignment, while focusing on safety, cost, schedule and quality in all aspects of the DC execution lifecycle.  

The Central West Europe Sub-Regional Lead will oversee and take accountability for the team to produce and manage project plans as well as executing major milestones in the project lifecycle i.e. (Kick Off, Early Access, Beneficial Use, Corporate Network Live, BAS/EPMS Network, Zero Tolerance Network, Security CX Complete, RNI, Telecom Infrastructure Fit Out Complete, Office delivery, Lockdown, Colo Go Live) and for the financial approval and management function.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Microsoft’s Central West Europe datacenter delivery portfolio, driving the successful execution of complex, high-capacity projects including hyperscale builds, AI infrastructure deployments, and major datacenter expansions.
  • Shape regional delivery strategy by partnering with EMEA leadership on capacity planning, long-range forecasting, portfolio prioritization, and risk management to support business growth.
  • Provide technical leadership across the full project lifecycle, overseeing design, network readiness, telecom integration, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness.
  • Build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, serving as the senior point of contact for engineering teams, construction partners, vendors, consultants, and key delivery organizations.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Integration & Technical Infrastructure Managers and vendor partners, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and operational excellence.
  • Oversee financial governance, project controls, and compliance, ensuring projects are delivered on budget, aligned with procurement standards, and supported by strong risk and quality management practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the region by championing innovation, standardization, safety, and process optimization, while tracking performance against key objectives for schedule, cost, quality, predictability, and business outcomes.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Construction Management, or Electrical Trade qualified candidate with a strong/demonstrated background in the delivery of large-scale complex projects. 
  • Significant experience in data centre construction, telecom integration, or mission critical infrastructure delivery. 
  • Proven leadership of large, multidisciplinary technical teams in complex, high pressure environments. 
  • Strong understanding of commissioning, fibre networks, security infrastructure, telecoms design, and EPC/GC delivery models.  
  • Experience managing builds and leases within accelerated / compressed delivery schedules.  
  • Demonstrated ability to manage senior stakeholder relationships, handle escalations, and influence outcomes across matrixed organizations.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Construction Project Management M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across Netherlands is € 101,000.00 - € 170,800.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.

Construction Project Management M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across Denmark is kr 799,800.00 - kr 1,320,000.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
