As a Field Service Engineer [Customer Engineer] at Applied Materials, you serve as the direct liaison with customers, collaborating closely to install, maintain, and upgrade equipment. You'll use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques to assess and address technical issues. Your responsibilities include performing preventative and corrective maintenance on various systems such as electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems. Additionally, you'll coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service.Key Responsibilities
1. Tool Computing Systems Support
- Troubleshoot and resolve computing infrastructure issues impacting semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
- Respond to and recover from system incidents affecting tool operations.
- Support the stable operation of customer production environments.
- Collaborate with internal technical teams and external vendors to resolve complex technical issues.
2. Server & Infrastructure Operations
- Operate and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure environments.
- Administer virtualization, container platforms, storage, and network systems.
- Perform system monitoring and preventive maintenance activities.
- Support hardware replacement, server recovery, and system restoration.
- Assist with new system deployment, installation, and upgrade projects.
3. Technical Support & Continuous Improvement
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide technical support and guidance to engineering teams.
- Drive operational process improvements and system reliability enhancements.
- Utilize technical documentation and continuously develop technical expertise.
