Internship, Technical Program Management, People Products (Winter/Spring 2027)
Description
This position is expected to begin around January 2027 and continue through May/June. Internships at Tesla are generally full-time, onsite roles that last a minimum of 12 weeks.
International Students: If your work authorization is via CPT, consult your school regarding your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week onsite. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.
About the role:
The People Products team serves as the technology counterpart within the people organization, bridging the gap between end-users and system developers. Our primary focus is on insourcing technology needs, providing direct support to users, and automating processes for employee efficiency. We work closely with internal organizations to build technology and processes that support users and drive system changes.
As an intern on the team, you'll play a key role in optimizing and scaling AI tools that transform the employee experience. The role sits at the intersection of HR/Recruiting and technology, driving initiatives that deploy AI to improve processes, automate workflows, and enhance People data visibility/reliability.
Responsibilities
- Configure, test, and deploy LLM-powered features and agent tools, in partnership with IT/Engineering teams, ensuring scalability, reliability, and high performance, while establishing best practices for AI system usage across the People team
- Partner strategically with product leaders and engineering teams to identify organizational bottlenecks, shape the product roadmap, and architect scalable solutions
- Translate HR business requirements into technical solutions in collaboration with engineering and systems teams, proactively identifying opportunities to apply AI and engineering towards the optimization of HR processes, systems, and analytics
- Execute A/B testing frameworks and analyze conversation data, user feedback, and system metrics to drive continuous improvement of AI tool accuracy and user experience
- Create and maintain program roadmaps, timelines, and milestone tracking, while coordinating cross-functional workstreams. Track risks, dependencies, and blockers across initiatives; maintain clear stakeholder communication through regular status updates, metrics, and escalations
- Document workflows, create and maintain SOPs, and establish best practices for AI system configuration and content management
Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Available for a 12+ week period over the summer and able to work onsite full-time
- Experience in project/program management, operations, or technical coordination, with a preferred focus on AI implementation, and/or process improvement
- Demonstrated proficiency with AI/ML tools and platforms, including comfort working with knowledge base platforms, generative AI systems, prompt engineering, or LLM-based applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data, evaluate system performance, and make data-driven recommendations
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders

Expected Compensation
$30.00 - $50.00 + benefitsPay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
