This position is expected to start January 2027 and continue through Winter/Spring term (ending approximately May 2027) or continuing into Summer 2027 if available and there is an opportunity to do so. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.

International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

Tesla's New Markets team drives the company's international expansion, from opportunity identification to full market entry execution. We are looking for a highly motivated, analytically strong candidate to support business planning, country-level due diligence, and cross-functional project management across the EMEA region, with occasional support to other global regions as needed. 

This is a high-impact role where your work will directly inform and guide executive-level decision-making on new market entries and their respective progress. 

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to market entry research and business planning, synthesizing inputs from cross-functional stakeholders — including Finance, Sales, Retail Development, and Charging — into executive-ready business plans and presentations 
  • Conduct country-level due diligence, covering sales/revenue potential, operational complexity, capital and operating cost estimates, and synergies with adjacent Tesla markets 
  • Perform retrospective analyses of existing markets to extract learnings and sharpen future planning frameworks 
  • Develop and refine financial models and market sizing tools, including TAM/SAM segmentation and scenario analysis 
  • Design and improve program management systems to automate progress tracking, surface risks, and maintain milestone visibility for active market entry projects 
  • Update and enhance leadership-facing strategic planning materials and resources 
  • Provide ad-hoc analytical and operational support for active EMEA market entry initiatives as priorities evolve 

Requirements

  • Strong generalist with high intellectual horsepower and ability to deep-dive into unfamiliar subject-matters areas in a fast and efficient fashion. International Business, Consulting, PE/IB, Financial analysis/modelling experience, Economics/Business school background or experience helpful 
  • Strong interest and curiosity in market development, business expansion, with general understanding of global macroeconomic, international trade and economic policy developments 
  • Well-organized and highly structured self-starter who can handle multiple projects with conflicting priorities with minimal direction, comfortable in fast-paced, dynamic work environment and self-directed problem-solving  
  • Confident and efficient communicator, excellent verbal and written English communication skills and ability to provide or prepare professional presentations to senior managers and executives  
  • High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint; Project management software applications and familiarity with AI applications is a plus
