Description

Tesla is seeking an Insulator to install and repair industrial insulation and support condensation and drainage work so mechanical systems stay dry, efficient, and production-ready at Gigafactory Nevada. This role works from work orders, drawings, and field markups across multiple buildings and elevations in an active manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Installing, repairing, and replacing pipe, duct, equipment, and fan coil unit insulation including fiberglass, foam, rubber, and jacketed systems
• Insulating chilled-water, condensate, and HVAC systems to stop sweating and leaks
• Supporting drain repairs and minor mechanical tie-ins related to condensation issues
• Working from work orders, drawings, and field markups across multiple buildings and elevations
• Staging material, protecting finishes, and leaving work areas clean and safe
• Coordinating with mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and production stakeholders
• Following Tesla EHS, LOTO, hot work, and elevated-work requirements and documenting completed work, hidden damage, or added scope
  

Requirements

• 3+ years of industrial or commercial insulation experience in manufacturing or large facilities
• Ability to read drawings, work from work orders, and work independently
• Comfort working on lifts and ladders in active manufacturing areas
• Valid OSHA 10, with OSHA 30 preferred
• Ability to work 10–12 hour days during peak load and occasional night shift
• Experience covering pipe and chilled-water systems to control condensation
• Experience insulating fan coil units, make-up air units, return air handlers, and large mechanical rooms
