iCloud Data Scientist

We are seeking an iCloud Data Scientist to join a team passionate about Data Science & Analytics for Apple Services to support transaction and subscription businesses across App Store, iCloud, Apple Music, Apple TV, Apple Arcade, Apple One, and other services.
You will play a key role in understanding and optimizing the businesses under Apple Services as a part of the Subscriptions & Commerce Data Science team with a focus on the iCloud business in China. As a member of this team, you will help us to grow the financial, transaction, and subscription health of iCloud by sizing, measuring, and recommending impactful initiatives. Responsibilities will include understanding the impact across acquisition, subscription renewals, tier upgrades, payment authorizations, user behavior, and operational costs.
Description
As a data scientist on the Subscriptions & Commerce Data Science team, you’ll establish, enhance, and socialize top-line and operational metrics that accurately represent the business state of health; craft deep dives in large-scale data to identify key insights that inform business strategy and product improvements; and develop, improve, and execute on experimental measurement plans for new subscriptions and commerce products and features.
Responsibilities
- Identify key insights and recommendations for the growth of the China business through analyses of local user behaviors, insights into local product offerings, and data engineering solutions to abide by local regulations
- Employ sophisticated analytic tools such as causal modeling and A/B testing and to accurately understand the effect of multiple and often interrelated initiatives
- Collaborate with business, marketing, finance and executive teams to generate regular presentations for C-level executives
- Build and maintain positive relationships with key partners across the company to successfully deliver everything from data instrumentation from engineering to actionable insights for business
- Coordinate with data and platform engineers to develop scalable solutions that abide by privacy, legal, and regulatory policies and guidelines
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, or digital product analytics
- 3+ years of data engineering experience in data pipeline development, data model design, and aggregation strategies
- Mastery in SQL-based languages and proficiency in large-scale data languages such as PySpark
- Proven record measuring user experience behavior, customer engagement, and business impact using sophisticated and appropriate analytic tools
- Strong proponent of experimental test and design, and practical experience with interpreting observational results
- Demonstrated experience with data engineering tools and concepts with querying, manipulating, and analyzing internet-scale data structures and very large datasets specifically to address complex business or product challenges
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with meticulous attention to detail with the ability to communicate effectively between business and analytics teams
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills across both technical and non-technical audiences
- Fluent in both Mandarin and English
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a digital subscription business or for an e-commerce platform
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics or a related field
