Established in 1987 and headquartered in Taiwan, TSMC pioneered the pure-play foundry business model with an exclusive focus on manufacturing its customers’ products. As of 2024, TSMC serves more than 500 customers and manufactures over 11,000 products for high-performance computing, smartphones, the Internet of Things (IoT), automotive, and digital consumer electronics. It is the world’s largest provider of logic ICs, with an annual capacity of over 17 million 12-inch equivalent wafers in 2025. TSMC operates fabs in Taiwan as well as manufacturing subsidiaries in Washington State, Japan and China, and the Company began construction on a specialty technology fab in Dresden, Germany, in 2024. In Arizona, TSMC is building three fabs, with the first starting 4nm production in 2025, the second by 2028, and the third by the end of the decade.

We are seeking an IC Layout Technician (IC Layout技術員) to support our advanced technology node layout. In this role, you will assist engineers in test structure layout preparation and maintain critical documentation to drive our technology development forward. The total monthly salary for the regular day shift is approximately NT$32,000, with eligibility for additional profit-sharing bonuses.

Job Responsibilities

1. Responsible for testkey layout creation and design across various technology nodes (N7 to A10).

2. Assist engineers with test structure layout preparation and documentation maintenance:

(1) Layout Preparation: (i) PDK setup, (ii)GDS design, (iii) DRC debugging, net-tracing, SPICE simulation, and other electrical pre-checks.

(2) Documentation Maintenance: Transfer layout information into WAT programs and analysis files.

3. Support the development of layout auto-generation workflows.

Job Qualifications

1. Technical Skills:

(1) Basic layout design skills are required (experience with LAKER or techfile). Advanced skills (such as UDD or Tcl) are a strong plus.

(2) Familiarity with layout design EDA tools (e.g., LAKER, Calibre, Virtuoso, Lavis, HSPICE) is highly preferred.

2. Experience: 2+ years of experience in FAB-photo, QA-SEM, WAT, or PFA is a plus.

3. Soft Skills: Excellent teamwork spirit with the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
