HR Business Partner - Spain & Turkiye
Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.
Netflix's HRBP team brings our talent strategy to life — we're as fluent in the business as we are in Talent, and we work as one team with our Global Business Practice (GBP) partners to deliver a consistent employee experience. Our HRBPs coach leaders and hold them accountable for the health of their teams, rather than doing the work for them.
The Role
We're hiring an HRBP to join the Spain & Türkiye Talent team. You'll own full-stack HRBP partnership for five functions — Marketing, Global Comms, Global Affairs, Legal, and Products & Technology (excl. Ads) — building direct relationships with leaders and each function's Functional HRBP across both countries. As an HRBP at Netflix, your role will be to provide guidance, coaching, and thought partnership on a range of people topics to the leaders and teams you’re supporting. This is a high‑ownership generalist role for someone interested in building genuine functional depth.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic talent partner for leaders across Spain & Türkiye, collaborating with them to translate business goals into clear people strategies and priorities.
- Day-to-Day HR Partnership: Provide practical, HR support to leaders and employees across Marketing, Global Comms, Global Affairs, Legal, and Products & Technology (excl. Ads), in direct partnership with each function's Regional Functional HRBP. Partner on strategic talent initiatives across culture building, organizational development, talent management, and inclusion and diversity. You are experienced in thinking strategically and able to execute effectively.
- Manager Coaching: Coach people managers directly on talent density and the keeper's test, helping them build and lead strong, high-performing teams while staying accountable for their own team's health.
- Employee Relations: Lead employee relations matters for your owned populations, including performance management, terminations, and leaves of absence, in partnership with Employment Legal and Employee Services, ensuring practices are fair, non-discriminatory, and compliant with local regulations.
- Cultural Stewardship: Apply Netflix's culture and inclusion principles to real decisions — hiring, feedback, promotions, and exits.
- Cross-Functional Execution: Partner with our GBP teams (Talent Management, Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Inclusion Strategy, Talent Analytics) to bring global programs to life locally. Analyze trends in attrition, promotions, and sentiment, and recommend and drive solutions.
- Change Management & Org Design: Passionate about and experienced with leading through change and navigating ambiguity, while maintaining operational excellence. Support the HRBP Director on org design and change initiatives across the geo.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: 6 or more years of progressive HR Business Partner or HR generalist experience in a dynamic, matrixed, global organization. You are comfortable working autonomously and able to demonstrate proactivity in identifying and addressing potential challenges before they become problems.
- Strong understanding of both business and HR concepts, including problem‑solving skills, judgment, critical thinking, and analytical capabilities.
- Business Acumen: A track record of connecting people's decisions to business outcomes and understanding how your client groups create business impact.
- Judgment & Critical Thinking: Demonstrated success navigating situations with no clear policy or process, using first-principles thinking and data to make calls with incomplete information.
- Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills, able to engage and influence stakeholders at every level.
- Data-Driven: Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills. Adept at exploring and analyzing data to identify insights and opportunities for business impact, using data to drive business decisions and tell a compelling story that influences stakeholders.
- Inclusion & Diversity: Proficiency in inclusion and diversity practices, with the ability to apply them effectively — including partnering across cultures and accommodating different needs where required.
- Experience working in a complex, matrixed, global organization, with the ability to navigate complex structures and influence stakeholders effectively.
- Proficiency in project management and execution skills to drive HR initiatives.
- This is an on-site role working out of our Madrid office (Tres Cantos)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience partnering with Marketing, Legal, Communications, Government Affairs, or Product/Technology client groups.
- Experience holding an HRBP remit across multiple countries.
- Proficiency in Turkish or experience working in the Turkish market.
Why This Role
- Real functional depth: ownership of five full‑stack functions with direct Regional Functional HRBP partnerships, not a purely support seat.
- A genuine growth opportunity: deepen Talent's day-to-day partnership in Spain & Türkiye as the business scales.
- Close partnership with the HRBP Director and visibility into Country Leadership Team-level priorities.
