High-Speed Converters Test and Validation Lead

Join Nokia's Optical Networks division as a High-Speed Converters Test and Validation Lead and play a key role in the development, characterization, and validation of next-generation high-speed converter technologies used in advanced optical transmission systems.

This is a senior technical leadership position for an experienced engineer with deep expertise in ADC/DAC characterization, high-frequency test methodologies, and laboratory-based validation. In addition to hands-on technical work, you will provide technical leadership for test strategy, drive improvements in measurement methodologies, mentor engineers, and coordinate validation activities across international development teams.

You will be responsible for ensuring the successful validation of high-performance converter solutions throughout the full product development lifecycle, from early technology evaluation through product release and manufacturing readiness.

Qualifications

• We are looking for candidates with:
• Master's degree or PhD in Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of industry experience in semiconductor, RF, mixed-signal, optical networking, or related high-technology environments.
• Strong hands-on laboratory experience with ADC/DAC characterization and validation.
• Deep understanding of ADC/DAC performance metrics and measurement methodologies.
• Extensive experience with high-frequency/RF test equipment, including oscilloscopes, network analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and related instrumentation.
• Experience developing automated test solutions using Python.
• Proven track record of supporting products through multiple development and product release cycles.
• Strong technical leadership skills with experience coordinating projects, driving technical decisions, or mentoring engineers.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across international engineering organizations.
• Fluent English.
  Nice to Have
• Experience with very high-frequency measurements, including mmWave and frequencies above 100 GHz.
• Experience with ADCs/DACs integrated into DSPs and ASICs.
• Knowledge of coherent optical transmission systems.
• MATLAB experience.
• Linux expertise.
• Experience with manufacturing test development and production ramp support.
• Previous technical lead or project lead experience within hardware development organizations.

Responsibilities

As a High-Speed Converters Test and Validation Lead, you will:

• Lead the validation and characterization activities for high-speed ADC and DAC technologies.
• Define test strategies, validation plans, and measurement methodologies for new converter developments.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers involved in converter testing and validation.
• Drive the development and continuous improvement of automated test environments, tools, and measurement frameworks.
• Perform hands-on laboratory measurements using advanced RF and high-speed test equipment.
• Analyze complex measurement data and provide technical recommendations to design teams.
• Collaborate closely with ADC/DAC designers, DSP engineers, ASIC teams, and system architects to support product development.
• Lead root-cause investigations for performance issues and drive corrective actions.
• Ensure the transition of validation methodologies from R&D into manufacturing and volume production environments.
• Mentor and support junior engineers while fostering engineering best practices.
• Coordinate validation activities across global engineering teams and external partners when required.
• Contribute to technology roadmaps and influence future validation approaches for high-speed converter technologies.
