Who you are:
We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking a Head of Vocational who will own the end-to-end product and commercial success of Geotab's Vocational segment. You will defend and grow Geotab's position across diverse asset-intensive industrial and vocational sub-segments, while accelerating growth and market position in earlier-stage opportunities. If you love technology, understand complex industrial markets, and are keen to join an industry leader, we would love to hear from you!
What you'll do:
As a Head of Vocational, your key area of responsibility will be defining and executing the product, go-to-market, roadmap, and investment strategy for Geotab's full Vocational portfolio. You will be responsible for expanding market share, growing net revenue retention, capturing new opportunities, and making principled build, buy, and partner decisions that leverage Geotab's platform, solution building blocks, Off-Highway Platform, and Marketplace ecosystem. You will need to work closely with Revenue Generation leaders, Off-Highway Platform leadership, Marketing, Business Development, Solutions Engineering, Global Enablement, product domain teams, customers, channel partners, and industry associations.
To be successful in this role you will be a commercially minded, customer-obsessed, and strategic leader with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to lead through influence across a complex, global organization. You will be comfortable navigating mature and greenfield markets, building credibility with industrial operators, and translating specialized customer needs into clear product and commercial decisions. In addition, the successful candidate will have strong product development, go-to-market, financial, stakeholder management, and people leadership skills, with an ability to manage competing priorities, use data to drive decisions, and sustain momentum through change.
How you'll make an impact:
- Own the product, go-to-market strategy, roadmap, and execution for the Vocational segment across its full portfolio of industrial sub-segments.
- Expand market share, grow net revenue retention, and capture new opportunities by aligning product strategy with the operating environments, duty cycles, safety requirements, and adoption drivers of vocational customers.
- Develop deep expertise across utilities and energy infrastructure, mining, oil and gas, construction, air, rail, ship, and adjacent industrial markets, building trusted relationships with customers, associations, and channel partners.
- Serve as the authoritative voice of the Vocational segment within Geotab's global product organization and close capability gaps through cross-domain collaboration, partner solutions, and effective solution packaging.
- Coordinate a consistent go-to-market motion with Marketing, Business Development, Solutions Engineering, Global Enablement, Revenue Generation, customers, and partners across the segment's sub-segments.
- Lead annual planning for product strategy, roadmap, headcount, budget, and OKR input; track and report revenue, growth, market share, pipeline, retention, and competitive win-rate KPIs to board leadership.
- Build and develop a high-trust, high-accountability cross-functional team and foster a culture of segment expertise, customer obsession, commercial outcomes, AI-enabled efficiency, and continuous development.
What you'll bring to the role:
- A bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and related work experience may be substituted.
- 10+ years of experience in a product or go-to-market role within vocational, industrial fleet, or commercial and asset-intensive vehicle industries.
- 5+ years of experience with accountability for revenue or commercial outcomes within a defined market segment and responsibility for product development.
- Experience leading product development teams and 10+ years of leadership experience, including 8+ years working with senior leadership in cross-functional commercial or product roles.
- Deep knowledge of vocational and industrial fleet operations, including operator business models, asset utilization, safety and regulatory requirements, telematics adoption patterns, and customer pain points.
- Strong commercial, product development, go-to-market, partner development, revenue analytics, and market-share management skills, with experience defining strategy across multiple sub-segments simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, change leadership, coaching, and influencing skills, including the ability to lead across Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Product, Development, and Design without direct authority.
If you got this far, we hope you're feeling excited about this role! Even if you don't feel you meet every single requirement, we still encourage you to apply.
