Head of Buildings Academy
Location: Datchet
Reports to: Head of Portfolio Sales Enablement
The Big Picture
As the Head of Building Academy, you will be the architect of our knowledge ecosystem. You aren't just running a training department; you are building the engine that empowers our internal teams, our Sales, Solution, and Service Partners, and our customers to excel. By bridging the gap between technical support and education across both hardware and software, you will ensure that every user—from a first-year apprentice to a long-term end user—has the expertise and support they need to succeed. You will lead a team of 8 with 4 direct reports. This is a hybrid role, with 2-3 days per week in the Datchet office.
Your Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Training Leadership
· Design and execute a comprehensive training strategy for three distinct audiences: Internal Staff, Partner Employees (Sales, Solution, and Service), and End Users.
· Manage and develop multi-channel learning paths (e-learning, hands-on workshops, and certifications) that cover our full portfolio of hardware and software solutions.
· Measure training effectiveness and ROI to ensure our partner network and internal teams are truly becoming more proficient.
2. Apprenticeship Scheme Management
· Lead and expand our Apprenticeship program, acting as a mentor and advocate for the next generation of technical talent.
· Ensure the curriculum meets both business needs and educational standards, providing a clear pathway from entry-level to expert in a multi-disciplinary environment.
· Engage with external learning providers to expand the use of Siemens technologies within the curriculum.
3. Technical Support Oversight
· Lead the Technical Support team, managing both direct (end-user) and indirect (partner-facing) support channels.
· Oversee support for a complex mix of hardware and software, ensuring the team has the tools and knowledge to troubleshoot across the entire stack.
· Use support data to identify "knowledge gaps," feeding those insights back into the Academy’s training programs to proactively reduce support tickets.
· Maintain high standards for response times, technical accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Who You Are
· An Educator & Leader: You have a proven track record of leading training functions and managing diverse teams.
· Technically Fluent: You are comfortable navigating both hardware and software environments and can translate technical complexity into simple, actionable learning.
· Strategic Partner Manager: You understand the different needs of Sales, Solution, and Service partners and how to enable each group effectively.
· People Champion: You are passionate about vocational training and the growth of apprentices.
Required Skills & Experience
· Experience in Training Management, Technical Support Leadership, or a similar role.
· Experience managing Apprenticeship or vocational schemes.
· Strong communication skills—the ability to explain complex hardware/software concepts to different audiences.
· Demonstrated commercial acumen, with the ability to align training investments and development programmes to business objectives, partner success, and measurable organisational outcomes.
