Educational Recommendations:

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree, diploma, or Electronic Engineering Technology program at an accredited Canadian post-secondary institution (2nd/3rd year or equivalent), with relevant academic or co-op experience.

Qualifications

You must have:

  • A solid foundation in hardware electronics concepts.
  • Familiarity with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
  • Have completed at least one co-op work term, a 4-month paid internship, or have equivalent paid work experience.
  • A proactive attitude, a willingness to learn quickly, and the ability to grasp technical concepts with ease.

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage tasks with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

As a student in the hardware group, you’ll work with an experienced team developing hardware solutions for Nokia’s routing platforms. Gain hands-on lab experience with prototype circuit boards and receive guidance, feedback, and career support from a dedicated mentor. This is an on-site role with office attendance required.

As part of the team, you will:

  • Verify and debug circuit designs using oscilloscopes and other test gear.
  • Test hardware under thermal and environmental conditions.
  • Complete the final assembly of new prototype units.
  • Qualify new circuit components
  • Develop custom automation scripts (Perl, Python, TCL) to control test equipment.

Salary Range: $41,184 to $91,184 CAD per year.
