Description and Requirements

Overview

The Singapore & Malaysia Country Finance Manager serves as the Country Finance Lead with end-to-end accountability for financial performance, planning, governance, compliance, and business partnership across Singapore and Malaysia. The role provides strategic financial leadership to support profitable growth, operational excellence, and business transformation while ensuring alignment with regional and corporate objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Lead monthly forecasting cycles, annual operating plans, quarterly outlooks, and long-range financial planning activities.
  • Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting, variance analysis, and performance insights to support business decision-making.
  • Drive monthly business reviews and provide recommendations to improve business performance and profitability.
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities and develop mitigation or optimization strategies.

P&L and Business Performance Management

  • Own and manage country-level P&L performance across Singapore and Malaysia.
  • Monitor and analyze revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, profitability, cash flow, inventory, and working capital metrics.
  • Partner with business leaders to drive financial accountability and achieve growth objectives.
  • Support strategic initiatives through financial modeling, scenario planning, and investment analysis.

Financial Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Lenovo financial policies, accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain strong governance frameworks to safeguard business assets and financial integrity.
  • Support statutory audits, tax compliance, regulatory reporting, and external financial obligations.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and relevant regulatory authorities.

Stakeholder Management & Business Partnership

  • Act as a trusted finance advisor to country leadership, GTAP CFO, and regional finance teams.
  • Collaborate closely with GTAP Segment Finance teams and Finance Center of Excellence (COE) to improve reporting quality and forecasting accuracy.
  • Influence decision-making through clear communication of financial insights and business implications.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve operational efficiency and business performance.

Finance Transformation & System Leadership

  • Serve as the primary finance representative for finance systems and transformation initiatives within Singapore and Malaysia.
  • Lead the transition from legacy accounting processes and third-party service providers to modern finance platforms and operating models.
  • Drive process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Enhance financial reporting capabilities, controls, operational efficiency, and data quality.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) preferred.

Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including financial planning & analysis, controllership, and business finance.
  • Experience managing country-level financial operations, P&L ownership, and performance management.
  • Proven experience supporting senior business leaders and driving strategic financial decisions.
  • Prior experience in multinational corporations and matrix organizations preferred.
  • Experience with finance transformation, process improvement, and systems implementation projects is highly desirable.

Technical Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, management reporting, and financial analysis.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, compliance, taxation, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, financial planning tools, and Microsoft Excel.
