Microsoft’s Cloud business is expanding, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the hardware infrastructure underlying this growth including AI! The CSCP organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as plan, source, make, deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), sustainability, and decommissioning of datacenter assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. The Cloud Sourcing, Security and Sustainability (CS3) organization within CSCP manages sourcing, strategy, and suppliers to provide cost, flexibility, and supply advantages that enable our org to become a world-class supply chain. Well-defined and executed sourcing and supply chain management ensures reliable, on-time performance and optimized cost, prevents urgent and unplanned investments, and provides accurate and timely information across the supply base and internally across the infrastructure organization. Responsibilities
  • Partner with 3PL providers, system integrators, and suppliers to ensure on-time material availability in support of production and customer delivery commitments.
  • Monitor and manage key supply chain metrics, including inventory exposure, supplier lead times, delivery performance, and material availability to drive operational excellence.
  • Lead resolution of supply, logistics, and operational issues across T2 suppliers, hub providers, and internal stakeholders to minimize disruption to production schedules.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate operational dashboards and performance metrics for silicon hub operations, enabling data-driven decision making.
  • Identify and implement process improvement initiatives that reduce cycle time, improve efficiency, and enhance supply chain performance.
  • Support onboarding and operational integration of new suppliers, ensuring readiness across planning, logistics, quality, and inventory management processes.
  • Partner with Supply Planning, Capacity Planning, Sourcing, and Engineering teams to manage product transitions, mitigate excess and obsolete inventory risk, and support successful ramp of new platforms.
  • Assess supply risks and develop mitigation strategies to improve supply continuity and support rapidly changing business requirements.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP and supply planning systems to analyze demand and supply trends, drive planning decisions, and improve operational execution.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 3+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, Sales & Operations Planning, material requirement planning systems and tools or related experience OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 1+ year(s) supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, Sales & Operations Planning, material requirement planning systems and tools or related experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience using data to improve inventory performance, lead times, fulfillment, and supply continuity.
  • 3+ years of semiconductor, or hardware manufacturing processes, logistics, and supplier operations.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with supply planning and MRP/ERP systems such as Kinaxis RapidResponse, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent planning platforms.
  • Demonstrated success driving process improvements, operational excellence initiatives, and continuous improvement programs using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience collaborating across sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, and planning functions to execute complex supply chain strategies.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, mitigate supply risks, and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Supply Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $97,600 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $125,000 - $206,400 per year.
