Description

As a Tool Install Global Logistics Project Manager for Texas Solar Manufacturing factories, you will be playing a critical role in Logistics management in new factory buildout, upgrading capacity, maintaining operations, and optimizing systems for the most exciting company in the world.  

You will manage general contractors and subcontractors of various trades to help install new manufacturing lines and collaborate cross-functionally with construction engineering, design, facilities, commissioning, and manufacturing as the facility transitions to production operations. From both the field and office, you will be responsible for maintaining budgets, schedules, procedures and execution. This role will require 50% of travel. 

You will also support pre-construction planning and benchmark execution for future factories. 

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of assigned projects ensuring long-term customer satisfaction opportunities and cost savings for Tesla
  • Evaluate bidding material buyouts and negotiating opportunities then prepare major purchase orders following pricing and scope evaluations
  • Maintain effective communication with Tesla personnel including Construction Manufacturing Tool Install QC QA CX and Facilities
  • Complete project startup procedures including projections budgeting and job cost entry for materials labor equipment and subcontracts
  • Collaborate with the Global Supply Manager on inbound outbound equipment logistics and work with transportation companies to adhere to Incoterms and schedules
  • Review project plans P&IDs single-line diagrams and loop diagrams to account for all material and hardware
  • Develop Master Logistics Programs from zero covering earthwork temp utilities security site development space allocations while managing storage and logistics across multiple sites

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or equivalent experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with effective reasoning and judgment skills
  • Proficiency with or ability to learn Primavera Microsoft Project Microsoft Suite Revu Bluebeam accounting software estimating software Excel Advanced functions Pivot Tables charts dashboards Power BI and other required systems
  • Ability to read and interpret all contract documents plans specifications and requirements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and capitalize on project opportunities
  • Knowledge of trade terms materials methods codes contract and specification language bidding methods
  • Ability to provide internal reports and data analysis using Excel advanced functions Pivot Tables charts dashboards and Power BI
