As Global Commodity Manager (f/m/d) Application Management Services (AMS), you will lead the development and execution of global commodity strategies for AMS and related IT consulting. You will create transparent demand, develop resilient supplier ecosystems, and deliver commercially competitive service models align Siemens’ application, cloud, security data amd operating-model requirements into strategies. You will drive sourcing excellence, build innovative supplier partnerships, and enable scalable, sustainable IT services.

You’ll create impact by

  • Commodity Strategy & Global Standards:
    • Lead the technical development and implementation of global AMS strategies based on demand, market, supplier, and technology requirements.
    • Establish transparency in purchasing volumes and drive value-creation opportunities through technical expertise, analytics, benchmarks, and defined KPIs.
  • Strategic Sourcing & Negotiations:
    • Execute complex international sourcing processes using state of the art processes and tools.
    • Negotiate international MSAs, framework agreements, and pricing models, including outcome-based and consumption-based agreements.
  • Supplier Management:
    • Manage end to end supplier relationships, including qualification, governance, and performance evaluations and assess technical capabilities.
    • Lead early procurement involvement and cross-functional engineering requirements with application owners
    • Drive supplier innovation, resilience, and compliance, ensuring alignment with Siemens’ sustainability and security requirements.
  • Driving Digital & Sustainable IT Services:
    • Promote cloud, AI, and automation opportunities an an agile environment to improve total cost of ownership.
    • Integrate sustainability criteria into sourcing and contracts, addressing supplier design impacts and footprint reduction.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Act as a trusted commercial and technical counterpart to stakeholders, constructively challenging requirements design processes and delivery models.
    • Align global standards with regional execution while supporting early procurement involvement and cross-functional collaboration.

This is how you'll win us over /

  • Education:
    • Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Industrial Engineering with an IT focus, or a comparable technical discipline.
    • Alternatively, a commercial degree with extensive experience in IT architecture, application management, or technology consulting.
  • Experience & Skills:
    • Longstanding experience in strategic IT sourcing, commodity management, or IT service management.Expert in the global software engineering market, working with international suppliers and expierenced in global sourcing initiatives, complex negotiations, and supplier governance.
    • Prooven success in working with application owners, architects, IT service managers, or engineering teams to define, source, and deliver complex IT services.
    • Expertise in analyzing supplier proposals, solution concepts, and operating models to ensure alignment with business needs.
    • Strong knowledge of AMS operating models, cloud delivery, ITIL-aligned service delivery, and software quality.
  • Ways of working:
    • Strategic and analytical mindset with strong execution capabilities.
    • Ability to challenge both technical and commercial stakeholders and convert complex technology concepts into cleabusiness decissions
    • Strong strategic, analytical, communication, presentation and negotiation skills
    • Collaborative and results-oriented working style, with the ability to navigate complex organizational structures.
  • Languages: Fluent English is required; German or other languages are advantageous.
