Freelance Hair & Make-Up Assistant, Contract

We are looking for a reliable, organised and proactive Hair & Makeup Assistant to support our Hair & Makeup team within a fast-paced live news environment.

We'll trust you to:

• Carry out regular hair and makeup checks on presenters, talent and guests while on air.
• Assist the Hair & Makeup team with preparations, touch-ups and general on-set requirements.
• Ensure the hair and makeup room is fully stocked, clean, tidy and ready for use at all times.
• Clean and maintain workstations, tools and equipment to a high hygiene standard.
• Prepare the room and products ahead of broadcasts and reset between talent and guests.
• Monitor stock levels and flag any products or supplies that need replenishing.
• Respond quickly to last-minute requests and changing broadcast requirements.
• Work professionally and discreetly with presenters, guests and the wider production team.

You'll need to have:

• Previous experience in hair and/or makeup is desirable.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Calm and able to work effectively under pressure.
• Proactive, flexible and a strong team player.
• Professional, personable and discreet.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, live broadcast environment.

This is an ideal role for someone looking to develop their experience within television and broadcast Hair & Makeup.
