The Financial Planning & Analysis team provides decision support across a range of critical initiatives, with a focus on financial modeling, statistical analysis, and business informatics. The work uses a combination of AI tools, engineering resources and data to provide transparency, evaluate business drivers, and quantify impacts to the firm in real time. You will take on the following responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Planning
- Work closely with major contributors across Two Sigma to manage the annual financial planning process and projections. Focus specifically on our Engineering area and monthly reporting.
- Partner with key collaborators to drive financial analytics with respect to our compute spend
- Build and maintain financial reports and dashboards focused on the business and health of Two Sigma, leveraging AI-assisted development tools, databases, and frontend applications
- Build and maintain analytics tooling to accurately model business scenarios and outcomes
- Support the compute expense charge-out framework
Data Management
- Refactor and migrate reporting workflows into scalable SQL-based models to support and enhance existing data feeds and optimize financial reporting capabilities
- Coordinate with engineering teams on sourcing and validating data for reporting and projection analytics
- Establish and maintain data governance and management frameworks to ensure consistency, accuracy and reliability of financial data
You should possess the following qualifications:
- 3-5 years of work experience, ideally including exposure to technology or cloud infrastructure spend
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with technology cost structures —e.g. Proficiency in handling cloud billing and unit economics management paired with cost recovery, together with datacenter and server cost management and cost recovery, is preferred
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Collaborative, resourceful, and experienced with project management
- Experience with AI-powered coding platforms (e.g. Claude Code) and data management practices to build financial dashboards and streamline processes

The base pay for this role will be between $130,000 and $160,000. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans and 401(k) contributions. Discretionary bonus can be a significant portion of total compensation. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including their skills, qualifications and experience.
