Opportunity Profile

The Field Applications Engineer, Hyperscaler Data Center Accounts helps a vision to grow a US Hyperscaler Data Center account that is highly strategic to ADI with significantly complex requirements and establishes ADI as a strategic partner with the Hyperscaler. This FAE leads by ensuring the sales strategy is executed, by technically driving customer engagement and understanding throughout ADI, and fostering executive-level engagements between ADI and the Hyperscaler customer.

The candidate will provide Field Applications Engineering support to Hyperscaler Strategic and Key customers based on Analog Devices’ World-class Digital and Analog products. The role requires positioning the best technology solutions tailored to customer needs while growing Analog Devices’ market share in the Data Center segment. This position also involves working with Sales, Business Units and Technology Groups to identify key opportunities, technology trends and to influence new-product definition. This position will be based in the San Jose, CA region.

Responsibilities

  • Pre-Sales discovery including understanding and disseminating customers' system needs versus wants.
  • Enable seamless, low-friction adoption of ADI solutions by providing deep technical expertise and proactive guidance.
  • Developing and maintain collaborative relationships with key customers.
  • Architecting system solutions for customers.
  • Developing and proposing new products to Business Units and Technology Groups to fill customers' needs.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships internally with Design, Marketing, and Applications Engineering.
  • Synthesizes US Hyperscaler customer’s organization and leads ADI on how to approach the account.
  • Creates a technical relationship; maps and builds networks from the very highest technical decision-makers facilitating the engagement of ADI as a strategic partner with US Hyperscaler.
  • Viewed as part of US Hyperscaler customer’s company culture and as a trusted partner.
  • Understands and leverages US Hyperscaler customer’s extended ecosystem.
  • Interacts directly with ADI Business Unit engineers, acting as voice of the customer filtering information appropriately related to the account’s objectives, performance, opportunities, and issues.
  • Understands the entire US Hyperscaler customer ecosystem (end customer, market, and design partners).
  • Identifies and resolves issues that interfere with driving investment decision-making that leads to profitable growth with the account.
  • Able to work with multicultural team through influence.
  • Responsible for performance to plan, understands drivers of gaps to achieving plan and quickly addresses those areas until resolved.
  • Acts as an advocate for sales and is involved in escalations when customer expectations are not being met.
  • Manages change aligned with overall sales and / or corporate strategy and objectives. 

Skills & Qualifications

  • BSEE or equivalent - MSEE preferred
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills At least 5+ years’ experience in Product Design, Applications or Field applications engineering or equivalent.
  • Rich Experience with Microcontroller-based systems and Firmware debugging.
  • Experience with Cloud and Data Center customers preferred.
  • Experience and working knowledge across multiple areas like C, RTOS, Memory Management, Multithreading, Context Switching, I2C, PMBUS, SPI, UART, USB, JTAG, Bare-Metal development and HAL.
  • Proficiency in Python and familiarity with configuration management tools like Git, Bitbucket, Perforce.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task between projects and set priorities.
  • Capability to present to and work with different levels of Management, Engineers and Technology Groups.
  • Excellent hands-on lab skills. Familiarity with basic lab equipment including Oscilloscopes, E-loads and Function Generators.
  • Strong desire to win.
  • Knowledge and expertise in selling power semiconductor products and Hyperscaler power requirements.
  • Prior experience with US Hyperscalers a plus
  • Ability to synthesize complex information across multiple inputs and perspectives – external market, customer, ADI, etc.
  • Highly collaborative; acts as a team player.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify, address, and drive issues to a mutually beneficial resolution.
  • Internal and external communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel globally 10% of the time as necessary to conduct stated responsibilities.
