Fire Sprinkler Designer, Infrastructure Programs
Description
The Fire Sprinkler Designer role will work within Tesla's R&D, Factory & Refinery Infrastructure organization on fire sprinkler scopes across North America. This role is ideal for a WBSL NICET II/2 years of experience or higher with a background in commercial and manufacturing projects. Candidate will be responsible for creating fire sprinkler system designs from initial concept to successful installation and commissioning. The ideal candidate thrives from working in a technically complex and fast-moving environment and is willing to challenge the status quo.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the scoping and design basis of fire sprinkler systems for Tesla facilities
- Primary designer for fire sprinkler systems from concept to execution
- Create full sprinkler system design packages in HydraCAD/Revit for AHJ permit submittals and field packages
- Ensure design complies with NFPA Standards and locally adopted codes
- Coordinate across disciplines to deliver installation ready permit and field sets
- Create stock lists and fabrication lists
- Collaborate with internal and external Fire Protection Engineer's on fire sprinkler requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Fire Protection or equivalent experience
- NICET II or higher in Water-Based Systems Layout preferred
- Ability to manage and organize multiple projects with competing priorities and timescales
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of NFPA and ICC codes and standards
- Ability to read and review construction drawings across trades and to coordinate with other disciplines
- Revit experience preferred
