Role Overview

Siemens are looking for a Fire Alarm Commissioning Engineer to join our Smart Infrastructure Buildings division in Ireland. You will be responsible for the commissioning of fire detection and alarm systems, assisting the service department with servicing and maintenance of fire detection, alarm and suppression systems. The role involves working on both standard and complex systems across commercial, industrial, and pharmaceutical projects where autonomous working is promoted.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commission fire detection, alarm, and suppression systems to agreed specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., IS 3218:2013 + A1:2019,:2024).
  • Service and maintain fire systems.
  • Provide expert advice during on-site inspections to support sales and design teams.
  • Respond to emergency call out and service desk requests.
  • Complete documentation including handover certificates, service reports, commissioning checklists and project reporting documentation.
  • Maintain and account for tools, test equipment, and company property.
  • Attend product training and maintain up-to-date knowledge of fire safety technologies.

To be successful, you will need:

  • Proven experience in commissioning fire alarm systems.
  • Strong knowledge of conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.
  • Familiarity with all major fire alarm brands and air sampling systems.
  • Full clean driving license.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Authorisation to work in Ireland (EU passport or valid work visa).

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Electrical/Engineering background or qualifications beneficial.
  • Experience with graphics interface systems beneficial
  • Experience working on large projects with complex fire strategies and deadline targets.
