Who are we seeking?
We are looking for a Financial Analyst – Controlling with a solid foundation in finance and a genuine interest in data, analytics, and automation. You will join the Grid Software Services Americas finance team, reporting to the Head of Finance, supporting the full portfolio with a focus on Power Technologies International (PTI), our power systems consulting and engineering business.
You are a hands-on contributor who keeps the day-to-day running accurately and on time – and who looks at every manual, repetitive step and asks “how do we standardize this, and can we automate it?” You will have the support and room to make that happen, turning routine work into reliable, repeatable processes and freeing up time for analysis that helps the business make decisions.
We are looking for Financial Analyst. This position follows a remote work model, allowing employees to work primarily from a home office while supporting business needs as required.
You’ll make an impact by:
PTI Finance Operations
- Business partnering: Support the finance partner for PTI leadership, project managers, and sales, providing analysis of revenue, margin, costs, and backlog for a consulting business that runs on people, hours, and projects.
- Project financials: Support PTI project and order setup, review time and billing data, and maintain accurate project revenue recognition (Percentage of Completion) in SAP.
- Utilization & capacity: Prepare utilization, capacity, and headcount reporting that feeds the monthly business review and helps leadership balance workload against demand.
- Operational accuracy: Handle a steady volume of transactional and data-entry work with care, and document each recurring process so knowledge is shared across the team rather than held by one person.
Financial Steering & FP&A
- Closing & Reporting: Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end activities. Lead margin analysis and backlog reporting to ensure a clear picture of business health.
- Variance Analysis: Prepare monthly commentary that tells the story behind the numbers, explaining variances between actual results and forecasts with clarity and insight.
- Planning & forecasting: Contribute to budget, forecast, and recurring headquarters requests for the PTI business.
- Business analysis: Perform targeted data analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Commercial Operations (Order-to-Cash)
- O2C Management: Own and improve the end-to-end Order-to-Cash process, including customer setup, order intake, invoicing, and cash receipt.
- Issue resolution: Spot and help resolve bottlenecks in billing and collections to improve cash flow and customer satisfaction.
Standardization & Automation
- Standardize: Turn recurring processes into consistent templates, checklists, and controls that others on the team can run.
- Automate: Identify manual steps and reduce them over time using tools such as Power Query, Power Automate, and KNIME – progressively shifting your own time from data entry to analysis.
- Partner on reporting: Work alongside the team’s Financial Data Architect, who owns the data models and Power BI platform; you bring the process expertise and are a key user and tester of the reporting tools.
You will impress us by having the following:
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in finance and/or accounting roles, ideally within a multinational, software, or professional-services organization.
- Solid understanding of IFRS 15 / US GAAP ASC 606 (Percentage of Completion, Cost-to-Cost Method), specifically within a project environment.
- Proficiency with SAP FI and CO modules.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query and relational data modeling – well beyond VLOOKUPs.
- A strong desire to learn and apply tools like Power BI, Power Automate, and KNIME to improve how finance works.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without Visa sponsorship
- MBA or professional certification (CPA/CMA).
- Experience in a consulting or professional-services environment (utilization, time-and-materials and fixed-price project billing).
- Exposure to SQL or Python.
- Ability to manage tight deadlines and high-volume work while keeping an uncompromising eye for detail and a collaborative spirit.
Why this role is unique
- The PTI Edge: You will support Power Technologies International (PTI), the "brains" of the energy transition, gaining exposure to high-level consulting and technical software financials.
- Developmental Launchpad: This position is explicitly designed as a developmental track. We aren't just hiring for today; we are looking for a future finance leader within the Siemens ecosystem.
- Digitalization Playground: You will have the autonomy to identify automation opportunities and build the tools that will modernize our regional reporting.
