About the Role

Join the AGS Finance Center of Excellence in Japan and help turn financial data into decisions and action. This role combines strong accounting discipline with curiosity, business partnership, and technology. You will help close the books accurately and on time, protect compliance and controls, and work with AGS stakeholders to explain what is happening, why it matters, and what to do next. It is an opportunity to learn across a global organization, build a broad finance network, and shape simpler, smarter ways of working.

  • Be a trusted business partner: build strong relationships with AGS leaders and cross-functional teams, understand their priorities, and provide practical guidance grounded in finance policies, statutory requirements, and business context.
  • Turn data into actionable insight: analyze performance, trends, drivers, risks, and opportunities; connect the numbers to operational reality; and communicate clear recommendations, options, and next steps.
  • Look forward, not only backward: identify emerging business or financial signals, anticipate stakeholder questions, and help partners act before opportunities or issues become surprises.
  • Solve problems end to end: structure unclear inputs, define the real problem, evaluate alternatives, and drive practical solutions across process, policy, risk, data, and technology.
  • Improve how Finance works: challenge manual or low-value activities, simplify processes, strengthen standardization, and contribute to automation, dashboards, AI-enabled analysis, and other improvement projects.
  • Communicate with impact: explain complex or sensitive topics in a clear, concise, and respectful way for both finance and non-finance audiences, in Japanese and English.
  • Deliver a reliable close: complete monthly and quarterly close, reporting, reconciliations, and management-review materials accurately and on time, with issues identified and resolved early.
  • Ensure compliance and control: apply company policy, accounting requirements, statutory rules, and key process controls; maintain complete support; and escalate risks transparently when needed.
  • Collaborate globally: work effectively with colleagues across Japan, regional and global COEs, and other functions; share knowledge and support newer team members.
  • Own the outcome: manage competing priorities, follow through on commitments, and maintain high quality even when information is incomplete or deadlines are tight.

What You Bring

  • Solid foundation in accounting, financial analysis, and business processes, with the ability to understand how finance activities connect across functions.
  • Experience with, or willingness to learn, SAP, CRM, BPC, dashboards, data-visualization tools, automation, and responsible use of AI.
  • Strong analytical skills: able to identify drivers, test assumptions, recognize patterns, and translate findings into clear business implications.
  • A continuous-learning mindset.

How You Work

  • You are curious, open to new ideas, and motivated to understand the business behind the numbers.
  • You combine attention to detail with a broader view of risks, opportunities, customers, and market context.
  • You ask thoughtful questions, listen to different perspectives, and build consensus without avoiding difficult messages.
  • You are comfortable experimenting with new tools and learning from feedback while applying sound judgment and protecting data and controls.
  • You take ownership, collaborate respectfully, and contribute to an inclusive environment where people can learn and grow.
