Summary

Apple's Finance and IS&T organizations are partnering to modernize how financial data is posted, reconciled, and governed across a large, highly integrated applications landscape. We are seeking a Finance Systems Technical Program Manager to sit at the intersection of finance business partners and IS&T engineering, driving the future direction, vision, and strategy for financial postings across all applications and platforms. This is a crucial role for someone who can operate equally well in strategic architecture conversations and in the operational rigor of running large, cross-functional programs. You will also take on delivery ownership for existing large cross-functional projects, reporting to Finance leadership on key areas such as resource planning and finance track execution & management.

Description

As a Finance Systems Technical Program Manager, you will act as the technical and program bridge between finance business partners and IS&T. You will help define where and how financial postings should flow across SAP and non-SAP applications, ensuring the strategy is technically sound and scalable as Apple's systems landscape evolves. You will also manage the day-to-day execution of large, cross-functional finance transformation projects arising out of this partnership, including where some are already underway. You should be comfortable moving between big-picture strategy discussions and the detailed blocking-and-tackling of program execution, and you should bring the credibility to influence both finance and engineering stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with finance business partners and IS&T architecture teams to define the future direction, vision, and strategy for financial posting across all applications and platforms.
  • Serve as a technical liaison between finance and prducting, translating business posting requirements into system and integration designs across SAP (e.g., S/4HANA, BTP) and adjacent non-SAP platforms.
  • Own delivery management for large, cross-functional finance transformation projects — tracking scope, schedule, risk, and dependencies across requirements gathering, technical design reviews, GAP, IT, UAT, Go Live, and Warranty stages.
  • Partner with local leadership across sites to manage resource planning and finance track management, ensuring the right skills and capacity are aligned to project demand.
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops and decision forums, brokering alignment when finance, IS&T, and business stakeholders hold differing priorities or technical approaches.
  • Provide regular status reporting and executive-level updates on program health, risks, and resourcing to finance and IS&T leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to standardize and simplify financial posting patterns across applications, reducing manual reconciliation effort.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in a Technical Project/Program Management role within finance systems, ERP or enterprise IT environments.
  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience managing full project lifecycles (requirements through go-live and warranty support) for cross-functional, multi-application initiatives.
  • Experience managing resource planning and capacity across multiple concurrent projects and stakeholder groups.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, or other enterprise finance/ERP platforms, including familiarity with integration frameworks (APIs, EDI, iDocs, CPI).
  • Experience partnering with architecture review boards or enterprise architecture functions on system strategy decisions.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior finance and engineering stakeholders and broker decisions across competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering directly with finance business stakeholders to define systems strategy or process direction.
  • Working knowledge of financial posting concepts and how transactions flow across enterprise applications (e.g., SAP, order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, or general ledger integrations).
  • Experience with large-scale system transformation approaches (e.g., Greenfield, Brownfield, Bluefield) and global cutover planning.
  • Self-starter with strong critical thinking skills, comfortable navigating ambiguity across both strategic and operational work.
  • Master's degree in a related field.
