Who are we seeking?

We are looking for a Finance Data Architect with a strong foundation in finance and a passion for data, analytics, and automation. This role is designed for a hands-on builder who enjoys creating scalable tools, data models, and reporting solutions that improve how finance operates.

While a portion of the role will support financial analysis and reporting, the vast majority of your time will be focused on developing and enhancing data infrastructure, dashboards, and automation solutions. We aren't looking for a historian to tell us what happened; we are looking for an architect to build the engine that shows us what is happening now and what will happen next.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

Data Modeling, Tool Development & Automation (~70%)

  • Build & Maintain: Design data models and datasets to support high-fidelity financial reporting and analysis.
  • Visualize: Develop scalable Power BI dashboards and semantic models for business-wide use.
  • Transform: Use Power Query and related tools to structure raw data into actionable insights.
  • Automate: Design repeatable reporting workflows and identify automation opportunities using Power Platform and AI-enabled tools.
  • Standardize: Improve data structures across Actuals, Forecast, and Planning datasets to ensure a "Single Source of Truth."

Finance Analysis & Reporting (~20%)

  • FP&A Support: Provide variance analysis and forecasting inputs to the controlling teams.
  • Targeted Analysis: Perform deep-dive data analysis to identify business trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Translate: Turn complex business questions into clear, data-driven narratives.

Strategic Project Support & Integration (~10%)

  • R&D / PLM Controlling: Assist in financial tracking and cost transparency for product development initiatives and resource allocation.
  • Ecosystem Integration: Work with SAP data (FI/CO, COPA) and support the integration of data sources into platforms like Snowflake.
  • Architecture Improvement: Assist in improving data pipelines and overall regional data architecture.

You will make an impact by:

Qualifications & Key Competencies

  • Analytical Rigor & Curiosity:You don't just "run" reports; you interrogate the data. You have a natural drive to understand the "why" behind the numbers and the "how" behind the data flow.
  • Self-Directed Ownership:As a "builder" in a remote environment, you must be a high-agency individual who can identify a problem, design a solution, and execute it with minimal supervision.
  • Data Storytelling & Influence:The ability to translate complex data models into clear, actionable business narratives.
  • Commitment to Data Integrity:You are the guardian of the "Single Source of Truth." You have an uncompromising eye for detail and understand that a dashboard is only as good as the governance behind it.
  • Resilience & Stakeholder Partnership:You possess the "strong resolve" necessary to partner with high-performing, autonomous teams. You can hold the line on data standards and financial discipline while remaining a collaborative business partner.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset:You are never satisfied with "how we’ve always done it." You are constantly looking for ways to automate, simplify, and scale our financial operations.

Required Education & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or Engineering). We value candidates who can bridge the gap between financial logic and data architecture.

Must have 8plus years of the following:

  • The Architect’s Toolkit: Expert-level Power BI (DAX) and Power Query (M).
  • Data Modeling: Proven experience building relational data models and semantic layers (Star Schemas).
  • SAP Core: Strong working knowledge of SAP FI/CO and COPA modules.
  • Advanced Analytics & Modeling (Excel): Expert functionality (Dynamic Arrays, Power Pivot, and complex logic).
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Modern Data Stack: Exposure to Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms.
  • Code-Savvy: Basic SQL for data querying; Python is a significant plus.
  • AI-Forward: Familiarity with AI-enabled tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to drive development efficiency.
  • Domain Expertise: Experience in R&D, PLM, or project-based financial controlling.

Why this role is unique

  • Engineer the Finance Data Stack: A majority focus on building scalable data infrastructure, moving beyond traditional static reporting.
  • Architect the 'Single Source of Truth': Lead the effort to shape and standardize datasets across the entire business lifecycle.
  • Master the Modern Data Stack: Work at the cutting edge of finance technology, integrating enterprise ERP (SAP) with cloud-based analytics (Snowflake & Power BI).
  • Be the Architect, Not Just the Consumer: This is a "builder" role designed to develop a next-gen skillset at the intersection of Finance, Data Engineering, and Strategic Controlling.
