The Failure Analysis team at Marvell owns the entire Failure Analysis (FA) process for both customer returns and internal qualification and production support. This team works closely with internal cross-functional teams and external vendors to perform root cause analysis and drive necessary corrective and preventive actions.

What You Can Expect

Perform electrical verification, fault isolation, and physical failure analysis on customer returns, internal failures, and engineering samples. Develop and implement new failure analysis tools, methodologies, and techniques to support leading edge semiconductor technologies and advanced packaging solutions. Collaborate closely with design, product, test, reliability, and manufacturing engineers to provide comprehensive failure analysis support and accelerate root cause identification. Plan and execute Design of Experiments (DOE) activities, and coordinate with machine shops on custom fixture fabrication, sample holder design, and precision machining requirements. Manage and coordinate failure analysis activities with external service laboratories, including deprocessing, FIB/TEM cross-sectioning, material characterization, and elemental analysis. Document findings, communicate results to stakeholders, and support corrective and preventive action implementation to improve product quality and reliability. Wage $160,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year.

What We're Looking For

Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or related technical field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

Experience must include two (2) years with each of the following:

• CNC milling tools and mechanical polishing.

• Optical, CSAM and X-ray inspections.

• Electrical tools and methods for failure confirmation such as Digital Multi-meter (DMM), Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies.

• Physical fault isolation techniques.

• Collaborating cross-functionally with design engineers, structure engineers, test engineers, reliability engineers and technicians.

• Handling DOE for development work and coordinating with an outside lab for part machining, material characterization.

• Working with outside labs to complete analysis work.
