Description

You will execute urgent build and repair requests from a short-notice ask to a finished installation. This is hands-on work across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and structural scopes, not a maintenance program and not a management role. Requests arrive with little lead time and can change the same day, so you shift priority and keep building without a fixed route. When the ask is incomplete, you suggest the material, sequence, and method, then execute the agreed approach. Carpentry and architectural work are core, including doors and frames, millwork, partitions, trim, and finish repairs in an occupied facility. You work around active operations, protect adjacent areas, and leave the work safe, functional, and clean. You own means and methods, and you stop and escalate when engineering is required.

Responsibilities

  • Build, install, diagnose, and repair plumbing systems, including piping, fixtures, valves, drains, and related equipment, so the installation works, holds, and does not leak
  • Install, repair, and troubleshoot electrical power, lighting, and equipment connections within your qualifications and the facility’s permit rules, and leave the work safe and labeled
  • Execute rough and finish carpentry and architectural work, including doors and frames, hardware, millwork, casework, partitions, trim, and finish repairs, matching existing materials and profiles
  • Frame, block, anchor, and build structural supports, platforms, guards, and reinforcements, field-verify existing conditions before you cut or fasten, and stop when the work needs engineering
  • Work from architectural drawings, details, finish schedules, circuit diagrams, piping diagrams, sketches, or a marked-up photo, and lay the work out to fit what is actually there
  • On a thin request, recommend a buildable material, sequence, and method, then execute the agreed approach without waiting to be managed through it.
  • Pull your own material, sequence your own work, and reprioritize the same day so the build gets done fast without losing fit, function, or safety

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years building and repairing in an industrial, commercial, or tenant-improvement setting, with a record of finishing urgent work rather than only completing a maintenance route
  • Demonstrated hands-on execution across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and structural scopes. You have built and repaired these systems, not only maintained them
  • Required carpentry depth, including rough and finish carpentry, doors and frames, millwork or casework, partitions, and architectural finishes. Commercial tenant-improvement or occupied remodel experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to install, diagnose, and repair plumbing and electrical work, and the judgment to stop at the limit of what you are qualified to do
  • Structural build experience, including framing, anchoring, supports, platforms, or guards, and a clear sense of when to stop and ask for engineering
  • Ability to read architectural drawings, details, finish schedules, circuit diagrams, and piping diagrams, and to suggest a buildable method from an incomplete request
  • Highly flexible under daily priority changes, basic proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to track requests and material, and the ability to lift up to 50 lb. as needed
