Description

We are seeking a proactive Facilities Maintenance Planner to manage our maintenance work management process - including job plan development, work order coordination, resource scheduling, and performance tracking. The ideal candidate is CMMS-proficient, experienced in facilities or industrial maintenance, and grounded in lean and reliability-centered maintenance principles.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed job plans for corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance work orders, including task steps, labor estimates, parts, tools, and safety prerequisites
  • Review and prioritize work orders; assign tasks to appropriate technicians based on urgency and resource availability
  • Prepare and manage the daily/weekly maintenance schedule, coordinating with management to allocate labor and materials
  • Partner with Engineering to establish and optimize PM/PdM strategies and procedures
  • Work with Engineering and Inventory Specialists to identify and set up spare parts in the procurement system; coordinate with the Spares Warehouse for timely material staging
  • Maintain accurate CMMS records — asset histories, work orders, failure codes, and PM schedules
  • Track and report key maintenance KPIs (PM compliance, schedule adherence, backlog, wrench time, MTTR/MTBF) and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized work, including scope validation and quality verification
  • Ensure all job plans incorporate required safety protocols — LOTO, confined space, hot work, and applicable OSHA standards
  • Support major repair projects by developing Pre-Task Analyses and coordinating planned shutdowns

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering Technology, Facilities Management, or related field, or 3–5 years of equivalent maintenance planning/technician experience
  • CMMS proficiency required (Maximo, SAP PM, Fiix, eMaint, or equivalent); 1–2 years hands-on minimum
  • Working knowledge of PM/PdM, RCM, and lean manufacturing principles
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards and safe work practices (LOTO, confined space, hot work)
  • Strong communication, prioritization, and data analysis skills
  • Self-starter; adaptable in fast-paced, high-volume environments

Preferred

  • CMRP Certification (SMRP) or Maintenance Management Professional (MMP)
  • Experience with shutdown/turnaround planning and contractor management
