Facilities and Physical Security Manager
What MatX is Building
MatX's mission is to make the world’s best AI models run as efficiently as allowed by physics, bringing the world years ahead in AI quality and availability.
Your Place Here
As Facilities and Workplace Security Manager at MatX, you’ll own everything from the day-to-day tactical office operations to large scale construction projects to physical security infrastructure and policy. You’ll partner with Workplace Operations, Security & IT, and People teams. You’ll be the sole owner of a function, and in time, expected to lead its scaling.
The right person for this role is curious, sees feedback as signal, and communicates reasoning proactively and transparently. You enjoy doing the hands-on work necessary to solve problems, been a leader in your previous roles, and know how to build this function without a roadmap.
What You’ll Do Here
- Engage in construction project management for ongoing tenant improvements to our current office, and additional improvements to future buildings.
- Act as the point of contact for property management to address any operational issues with our buildings.
- Own physical security at the building, including patrols, infrastructure, policies, and training.
- Scale the facilities and security teams.
- Provide on-call support during off-hours should an emergency arise at the building.
- Additional responsibilities that will come up on an ad-hoc basis.
Who You Are
- You have 5+ years of experience in facilities or property management, program management, security management, or related roles. You’ve demonstrated the ability to own a function, respond well to feedback, and operate with autonomy in a fast-moving environment.
- You communicate with substance and transparency. You’re happy to walk others through your reasoning, the options you considered, and the tradeoffs.
- You move fast and adapt. Priorities shift quickly at a startup. You can context-switch, reprioritize, and execute without needing everything to be perfectly defined first.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Good judgement and ability balance priorities.
- Strong attention to detail.
