Fab Integrated Production and Supply Chain Planning Manager — Advanced Packaging Technology and Service
TSMC Advanced Packaging Technology and Service ( APTS) is rapidly expanding to support the next generation of high-performance computing, AI, and leading-edge semiconductor applications. As product architectures become more advanced and customer demand becomes more dynamic, production planning in advanced packaging is no longer a traditional scheduling function. It is an integrated supply chain planning role that connects customer demand, wafer supply, backend capacity, advanced packaging operations, material readiness, engineering constraints, and multi-site manufacturing execution.
As a Manager, Production Planning — APTS, you will play a critical role in building and executing an agile and data-driven, AI-enabled planning system to maximize customer fulfillment, capacity utilization, cycle time performance, and operational efficiency across TSMC’s advanced packaging ecosystem.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience in semiconductor manufacturing, supply chain planning, advanced packaging, production control, or optimization. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders across fab, advanced packaging, engineering, business operations, IT, and customer-facing teams to develop scalable planning processes and systems for one of the most complex manufacturing environments in the world.
Job Responsibilities
End-to-End Supply Chain Planning
1. Own and manage Master Production Schedule (MPS) planning for advanced packaging and backend operations, typically covering a 3–6 month planning horizon to identify supply gaps, bottlenecks, loading risks, and capacity fulfillment actions.
2. Translate customer demand, product mix, engineering constraints, material readiness, and capacity availability into executable production plans across fab, backend, advanced packaging, subcontractors, material suppliers, and internal planning teams.
3. Drive scenario planning and what-if analysis to support decision-making under demand volatility, capacity constraints, and product mix changes, while ensuring demand fulfillment and delivery commitment.
Production Execution and Operations Performance Management
1. Plan and monitor advanced packaging production flows, including capacity allocation, WIP movement, cycle time, output performance, loading balance, and bottleneck management.
2. Analyze operational performance indicators such as DOI, output, WIP, cycle time, capacity utilization, delivery performance, and supply-demand gaps to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
3. Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and business teams to resolve planning constraints, improve production delivery, and support new product introduction, technology ramp-up, engineering changes, and volume ramp planning.
Customer Fulfillment and Delivery Management
1. Build an end-to-end view of supply readiness across internally manufactured components, externally sourced components, materials, capacity, and multiple manufacturing sites or routes.
2. Optimize allocation of demand, capacity, materials, and production loading while balancing customer priorities, business objectives, and operational constraints.
3. Provide clear demand-vs.-supply analysis, delivery risk assessment, and mitigation recommendations to improve customer fulfillment, planning responsiveness, flexibility, and execution discipline.
Data Analytics, AI-enabled Planning Transformation, and Process Excellence
1. Lead planning system enhancement, digital transformation, AI adoption, automation, and process re-engineering initiatives to support APTS growth, product complexity, and faster demand changes.
2. Define business requirements and operating mechanisms for planning tools, dashboards, simulation models, integrated data platforms, review processes, and decision frameworks.
3. Partner with IT, AI teams, business users, and cross-functional stakeholders to convert planning challenges into scalable digital solutions, applying data analytics, optimization, simulation, or AI / ML concepts to improve forecast accuracy, WIP control, delivery planning, and real-time visibility.
Lead a Team
1. Lead and develop a team of planners responsible for demand-supply matching, delivery management, and execution monitoring.
2. Drive planning transformation initiatives and build organizational capabilities in supply chain planning, data analytics, and cross-functional leadership to improve productivity, responsiveness, and delivery performance.
3. Partner with senior leaders to support long-term expansion strategy, business growth, and customer fulfillment.
Job Qualifications
1. Master degree or above in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, MBA, Engineering, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or related fields.
2. 10+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: (1) Production planning or end-to-end supply chain planning. (2) high-tech manufacturing, EMS or Semiconductor manufacturing planning. (3) Backend / assembly / test / advanced packaging operations. (4) Material planning or manufacturing operations management.
3. Strong analytical capability with experience in data-driven problem solving.
4. Ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across manufacturing, engineering, business, IT, and customer-facing teams.
5. Hands-on experience with Excel and data analysis tools; SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent tools are preferred.
6. Experience in planning system implementation, business process re-engineering, or digital transformation is preferred. Familiarity with AI / machine learning / optimization / simulation applications in planning or manufacturing is a plus.
7. Fluency in English and Mandarin is required.
