Role Overview

At Cadence, seamless event experiences depend on the technology that powers them. As an Event Technology Specialist, you will select, implement, and manage the full technology stack behind our events, spanning registration systems, event mobile apps, webinars, virtual conference platforms, and audience engagement tools such as live polls and Q&A features.

You will own complex event platforms from initial setup through flawless execution on event day, ensuring a smooth technology experience for attendees across every region. Working closely with event planners and coordinators, you will set up, test, and confirm that all event technology functions perfectly before and during each event. You will also partner with software vendors to customize platforms for the unique needs of each event, including maintaining brand consistency, accurately capturing attendee data, and streaming presentations without a hitch.

This role calls for a blend of sharp technical problem-solving, proactive thinking, a solution-oriented mindset, and a calm, reassuring presence under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Management

  • Build and manage event websites, mobile apps, webinars, and all other event-related software platforms.
  • Configure every platform correctly to deliver a frictionless user experience.
  • Partner with the Event Lead to maintain detailed timelines across all event workstreams and closely monitor progress within each specialty.
  • Uphold and enforce brand consistency across all regions.
  • Translate our strategic and operational needs into clear scopes of work, timelines, work plans, and budgets, in consultation with the Senior Manager.
  • Serve as the primary interface between Cadence staff and vendors for problem identification and resolution.
  • Collaborate with vendors to evaluate work processes, develop timelines and milestones, and hold them accountable for successful implementation.

Technical Troubleshooting

  • Diagnose and resolve any technical issues that arise before or during an event, quickly and calmly.

Support

  • Develop and maintain current documentation on all supported systems to enable knowledge transfer across global teams.
  • Design and deliver training sessions, and create supporting materials for enterprise event software applications.
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth testing, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems, and provide post-implementation support.

Strategy

  • Evaluate event outcomes and propose strategic adjustments to our technology support approach to continuously elevate the event experience.
  • Refine process workflows and optimize the user experience.
  • Track new features and enhancements, and assess their value to our business practices.
  • Continuously improve and streamline both the user experience and staff efficiency.

Skills and Requirements

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience.
  • One to three years of relevant experience.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in event management tools. Cvent experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with mobile apps, webinar platforms, and lead capture software.
  • Proven ability to use, teach, and troubleshoot a variety of software applications.
  • Ability to master new systems quickly and research a wide range of issues when troubleshooting user problems.
  • Experience with, or exposure to, project management and vendor management.

Additional Requirements

  • Physical demands: Ability to stand for long periods and lift equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings and weekends, as dictated by the events calendar.
  • Travel: Possible travel up to 30%, including international travel.
