Engineering Technician, Cell Engineering

Description

We are seeking an engineering technician to support a cross-functional cell engineering team on the second shift. The role focuses on hands-on battery cell builds, electrochemical testing, and precise recordkeeping in a chemistry lab environment while following established standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Build test cells such as coin cells and pouch cells and initiate tests on electronic equipment
• Dissect battery cells to perform measurements and harvest components
• Maintain accurate and timely records of cell builds and dissections
• Perform manual lab tasks including cleaning cell parts, organizing benches and supplies, and supporting equipment maintenance
• Monitor and document testing status while communicating issues and assisting with solutions
• Handle air-sensitive materials using a glove box and dry room environment
• Support maintenance of equipment including battery cyclers, glove boxes, and temperature chambers

Requirements

• 1+ years experience with air-sensitive materials and/or hazardous chemicals
• Above average manual dexterity and visual acuity for delicate assembly tasks
• Working knowledge of Windows and MS Office
• Ability to perform hands-on tasks with precision and repeatability
• Good communication skills and high attention to detail
• Degree in Engineering or Chemistry, or equivalent experience
• Experience working in a chemistry lab environment following standard operating procedures

Expected Compensation

$30.50 - $58.33/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
