Engineering Project Manager

Description
In this role, you will manage projects and support the roadmap execution for the Identity program, focusing on building capabilities and platforms that deliver amazing new customer features. You will partner directly with engineering teams, internal cross-functional groups across Apple, and external partners. Under the guidance of PMO leadership, you will help drive the scoping, planning and execution, and launch of key initiatives, ensuring teams stay aligned and projects are delivered on time.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end execution of large, multi-year Identity initiatives, proactively optimizing timelines, scope, and resource allocation across iOS client and backend server teams.
- Collaborate with Engineering leads to architect client-server designs, define feature sets, and establish data quality frameworks.
- Anticipate and map cross-functional dependencies across partner groups to align roadmaps, mitigate risks, and streamline global communication.
- Navigate technical ambiguity to establish structured, scalable processes and drive delivery of secure identity solutions.
- Report program health, milestones, and risks to team members and cross-functional leadership.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and translate technical concepts into actionable project roadmaps.
- Identify, track, and mitigate technical risks, driving them to full resolution while maintaining transparent stakeholder communication.
- Maximize development momentum by aggressively triaging client-server bugs, clarifying engineering requirements, and unblocking cross-functional bottlenecks.
Minimum Qualifications
- 7+ years of cross functional project management experience in a technical software development environment.
- Strong knowledge of data governance best practices and data privacy standards.
- Direct experience managing initiatives within security, privacy, legal, or compliance frameworks, specifically related to the Identity and Authentication space.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate technical ambiguity, triage development bugs, and drive cross-functional decision-making under minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and facilitation skills coupled with deep technical fluency and sharp business insight.
- Proven track record coordinating cross-functional work streams and building technical roadmaps involving client-side, server-side, and design teams.
- Proven stakeholder management and communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with bug fixes, driving frequent follow-ups and owning technical risks through to final closure.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present technical metrics and program health to stakeholders at all levels, including external partners and executive leadership.
- Proven ability to proactively identify risks, drive decision-making, triage bugs, and unblock development in a fast paced environment.
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalentprofessional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience leading large-scale data platform modernization or complex system migration programs.
- Deep understanding of client-server architecture, including runtime lifecycles, performance constraints, and end-to-end data flow.
- Familiarity with modern engineering workflows, including standard bug-tracking systems, GitHub, and AI-assisted development tools
