Description

We are looking for an engineering program manager to steer the performance aspect of feature development and drive cross functional initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • You will help define metrics and KPIs, and lead teams to execute on performance goals. This is a hands-on role working with the engineering org, as well as site-reliability engineering, business teams, operational teams, marketing, analytics, and external vendors.
  • You are the thread tying these disparate teams together to deliver end-to-end projects that improve our products globally.
  • You will be involved in all aspects of the project life-cycle, whether it be helping develop functional requirements, getting into the detailed analysis, facilitating proofs-of-concept or QA, and tracking release management of multiple projects at once.
  • You build positive relationships; you are aware of politics but do not get mired in them; you are constantly looking to improve yourself and your team; you see around corners; and you deliver.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program management, product management, systems engineering or equivalent experience
  • Excellent project management skills to drive schedules, dependencies, critical path and risks
  • Solid technical understanding of large scale distributed software systems, cloud architecture, development and deployment, and bonus points for past development experience
  • Strong facilitation skills (requirements sessions, design meetings, progress and status meetings)
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams
  • BS/MS in Computer Science / Engineering or relevant industry experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with systems performance instrumentation and optimizations
  • Experience working across a full software stack: consumer devices, networking, backend and infrastructure
  • Understanding of OS fundamentals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including the ability to convey information in a clear, concise and credible manner
  • Strong relationship management and facilitation skills both within diverse engineering teams and cross functional organizations
  • Familiarity with open-source software development processes

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $166,600 and $250,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
