Summary

Apple Intelligence is changing how customers around the world use their devices, and the new Siri is central to that. As an Engineering Manager on the Siri team, you will lead the engineers building the Siri app across iOS and macOS, and bring new Siri AI capabilities to the whole operating system. We're looking for a hands-on technical leader who raises the bar for engineering quality and helps set Siri's direction.

Description

This is a hands-on technical management role. You will go deep on architecture, code, and performance with your team, and also explain the bigger picture clearly to partners and leadership. You will work with sibling OS teams and partners in Design, Product, AI/ML, and Quality to turn new ideas into polished experiences. You will also lead the way in using agentic coding and AI-driven testing to change how we build software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, hire, and grow a team of engineers, and turn your leads into strategic thinkers rather than technical overseers
  • Stay hands-on in architecture, code reviews, debugging, and performance, and set the bar for concurrency and testing
  • Use the product every day. When something isn't right, own the fix, and push work forward with proposals, prototypes, and demos instead of waiting for requirements
  • Set a fast prototype-and-demo pace that turns ideas into working demos in days, not months
  • Lead a codebase restructure for isolation and testability, so engineers and agents can ship changes confidently without end-to-end validation for every change
  • Partner with sibling OS teams and cross-functional leaders to deliver system-level Siri integrations
  • Drive adoption of agentic coding and AI-driven UI testing across the team

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience managing engineering teams, including hiring and growing engineers into technical leaders
  • Deep expertise in Swift and SwiftUI
  • Hands-on experience with agentic coding tools, including leading their adoption across a team
  • Strong product sense, with a track record of shipping great customer experiences
  • Track record of leading cross-functional projects to ship, with excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong command of Swift Concurrency and performance tuning with tools such as Instruments
  • Strong background in automated testing (XCTest, XCUITest, Swift Testing)
  • Experience using AI-driven approaches to UI testing and validation
  • OS and system-level integration experience on iOS and macOS (e.g., App Intents, extensions, IPC)
  • UIKit and AppKit experience alongside SwiftUI
  • Experience building AI-powered, conversational, or voice experiences
