About the Role:

As Software Engineer Senior Lead, you will guide the evolution of FIS Content Management and eDelivery products (FCM), enabling the secure creation, management, storage, and delivery of millions of customer communications and digital documents. This is a highly visible technical leadership role responsible for modernizing enterprise platforms, delivering innovative digital experiences, mentoring engineering teams, and ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of solutions that serve financial institutions worldwide.

Your Key Responsibilities:

As a Software Engineer Senior Lead, you will serve as both a technical expert and engineering leader responsible for the strategy, architecture, delivery, and operational excellence of FCM solutions.

Lead Technology Strategy and Architecture

·        Drive the technical roadmap for FCM platforms.

·        Design scalable, resilient, and secure enterprise solutions that support high-volume document processing and distribution.

·        Lead architecture reviews, solution design sessions, and engineering governance activities.

·        Drive modernization initiatives including cloud adoption, microservices, API-first architectures, and automation.

Deliver World-Class Content Management Solutions

·        Lead the development of capabilities supporting:

o   Document ingestion and capture

o   Content storage and archival

o   Metadata management

o   Search and retrieval services

o   Workflow orchestration

o   Records retention and compliance

o   Content lifecycle management

·        Ensure solutions support regulatory, audit, and governance requirements while maximizing operational efficiency.

Drive Digital Communications and eDelivery Innovation

·        Lead engineering efforts supporting electronic delivery of statements, notices, tax forms, reports, and customer correspondence.

·        Develop and enhance multi-channel delivery capabilities across web, mobile, secure messaging, APIs, and notification services.

·        Optimize document generation and distribution processes for scalability, reliability, and customer experience.

·        Partner with product and business teams to expand digital adoption and self-service capabilities.

Lead High-Performing Teams

·        Provide technical leadership and mentoring to software engineers and senior developers.

·        Champion engineering best practices, code quality, and design standards.

·        Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, continuous learning, and collaboration.

·        Support talent development through knowledge sharing and technical guidance.

Drive Operational Excellence

·        Ensure platform reliability, availability, and performance through proactive monitoring and operational improvements.

·        Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and reliability initiatives.

·        Promote automation, observability, and DevSecOps practices.

·        Reduce technical debt while improving system sustainability and maintainability.

Champion Security and Compliance

·        Ensure adherence to FIS security, privacy, and regulatory standards.

·        Partner with Risk, Audit, and Information Security teams to address vulnerabilities and compliance requirements.

·        Implement secure development practices and data protection controls throughout the software lifecycle.

What you bring:

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related technical field.
  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of experience leading technical teams or large-scale engineering initiatives.
  • Advanced experience with C++ / C# / .NET / .NET Core and modern full-stack development practices.
  • Experience with Angular, Blazor or other similar component-based web development platforms and frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and application architecture.
  • Experience with authentication, authorization, secure API design, and role-based access control.
  • Experience with Oracle and relational databases.
  • Experience with Git-based source control, GitHub Actions, and Terraform.
  • Experience developing or deploying applications on Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
  • Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum delivery methodologies, software design, automated testing, debugging, performance optimization, and production support.
  • Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership, architecture guidance, code reviews, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience supporting customer communications, digital document delivery, statement processing, or content management systems.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Event-driven architectures
    • Kubernetes and containerization
    • Distributed messaging systems
    • Search and indexing technologies
    • Cloud-native application design
  • Experience within financial services, banking, payments, fintech, or other regulated industries.
