EMEA Communications Executive – Internal/External

BloombergPublished 1 days agoFirst seen 1 days ago
Bloomberg delivers critical information in a world where information matters. We give influential decision-makers in business, finance and government a driven edge by connecting them to a dynamic network of information, people and ideas, delivered through innovative technology. Our people work well under pressure and thrive in a team environment.

Bloomberg's Corporate Communications team shapes how the company is understood by the people who matter most to its success: our employees, the media and the broader business and financial community. Across EMEA, the team blends communications that inform and engage our people with communications that build and protect the company's external reputation — spanning media relations to executive visibility — so the region speaks with one consistent voice, internally and externally.

What's the role?

We're looking for a curious, high-energy and detail-oriented communicator ready to build a career spanning both internal and external communications. You'll work across a varied portfolio spanning multiple subject areas, as well as both internal and external projects, partnering with colleagues across the EMEA region as you build your remit. You'll help deliver messaging for employees and external audiences alike, gaining broader exposure over time to media relations, executive visibility, employee engagement and issues management.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys making things happen. You’ll coordinate inputs and approvals, manage timelines, write and edit content, support events and campaigns, and keep multiple pieces of work moving at once. At the same time, you’ll need the judgement to understand what audiences need to know, the curiosity to find a good story and the initiative to spot opportunities we may otherwise miss.

We'll Trust You To:

  • Support the development and delivery of EMEA communications, internal and external: Work alongside business and regional leaders, and global Corporate Communications colleagues, to help bring their communications goals to life — building your own knowledge of regional audiences, external stakeholders and cultural nuance along the way.
  • Create content across internal and external channels: Write intranet stories, help draft policy and change messages, support internal newsletters and campaigns, and contribute to press materials, statements and briefing documents — building range across a variety of platforms and formats.
  • Support media and external stakeholder engagement: Help senior colleagues respond to media inquiries, draft holding statements and background materials, and monitor regional coverage — with growing opportunities for direct media contact as you build experience.
  • Support Corporate Functions and teams across EMEA: Work closely with stakeholders to execute communications that support their priorities – coordinating inputs and approvals, developing content, managing timelines and ensuring communications are delivered accurately and effectively.
  • Help prepare senior leaders for external visibility: Work alongside more experienced communicators to develop messaging, briefing materials and talking points ahead of interviews, panels, conferences and other public-facing moments.
  • Drive regional employee engagement initiatives: Build relationships local contacts across the region, helping bring greater visibility to our locations and the people and work within them.
  • Support internal and external events: Help our Events team and other partners plan and deliver employee events — from on-site support at town halls to drafting leader remarks — as well as regional external-facing moments.
  • Support change communications: Help develop regional communications that drive employee awareness and adoption of changes to processes, procedures and tools.
  • Find and elevate great stories: Develop a strong network across the region that helps you uncover the people, teams, business activity and ideas worth sharing. Identify opportunities to bring those stories to wider audiences through EMEA and global channels.
  • Connect EMEA to our global Internal Communications strategy: Ensure regional communications align with the team’s broader strategy, priorities and editorial approach. Work closely with Internal Communications colleagues in New York and Hong Kong to coordinate activity across regions, share ideas and content, and ensure EMEA perspectives and stories are represented in our firmwide communications.

You'll need to have:

  • 3 years+ of relevant experience in employee, internal or corporate communications, with a track record of strong execution and managing communications from development through delivery.
  • Excellent writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt your tone and approach for different audiences, topics and cultures.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and keep projects moving from start to finish.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build productive relationships across functions, geographies and levels of an organisation.
  • A willingness to be hands-on – comfortable moving between content creation, stakeholder coordination, event support and the day-to-day execution needed to get work done.
  • A natural curiosity and good editorial instinct. You seek out what is happening, recognise a good story and understand what will be relevant to employees.
  • Resourcefulness and the ability to simplify complex topics into clear, accessible communications.
  • Adaptability coupled with sound judgement and discretion.
  • A collaborative mindset and an interest in being part of a global team while representing the needs and perspectives of EMEA audiences.

We'd love to see:

  • A growth mindset: genuine enthusiasm for learning from senior communicators and building a broad skill set across internal and external disciplines.
  • Experience working across multiple EMEA markets or communicating with culturally and geographically diverse employee populations.
  • Prior communications experience within financial services, media or technology.
  • Experience working with regional offices or local employee groups to surface stories and support employee engagement.
  • An interest in developing media relations skills — direct media or press office experience is a bonus, not a must.
  • A growth mindset: genuine enthusiasm for learning from senior communicators and building a broad skill set across internal and external disciplines.
