Embedded Software Development Engineer – Linux & C/C++ & Network Communication

What are my responsibilities?
• Software design and development activities
• Software design and documentation
• Participating in code-review process
• Taking part in the complete product life cycle
• Software design, implementation, documentation, unit tests, module tests, debugging and release tasks in a multi-site, international software development environment
• Contribution to solutions architectures, requirements elicitation and development processes improvement
• Producing high-quality project deliverables within planned time and effort
• Conforming to Siemens processes, quality standards, and guidelines
What do I need to qualify for this job?
• BSc., MSc. Or PhD in Computer Science, Electronics, Control Engineering or related areas
• Proven 5+ years of experience developing software in Linux environment for embedded systems
• C/C++ programming for embedded systems
• Experience in developing software in Linux Embedded systems
• Understanding of OS thread scheduling Linux and IPC
• Experience with Ethernet technology (MAC and Physical layers), Ethernet switching and IP routing
• Layer 2/3 switch-fabrics (Marvel and/or Broadcom ASIC, PHY, MDIO interface)
• Experience in debugging and optimization of control-path and data-path execution flows
• Being familiar with using git-based repositories (Azure DevOps, GitHub, Gitlab, etc.)
• Very good command of English
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Open minded and highly collaborative
Additional “nice to have” strengths in the following areas:
- Experience with L2 switching and/or L3 forwarding and routing protocols
• Exposure to Layer 2 LAN protocols: RSTP, IEEE 802.1X, IGMP, GVRP, VLAN
• Exposure to Layer 3 protocols: TCP/IP, UDP, MPLS, BGP, IPSEC
- Familiarity with AI tools (CoPilot, AI Attack) and other technologies.

• No restriction for travelling abroad
• Candidate will work with Siemens Canada
• Flexible working hours (Dailys: 19.30-20.00, Sprint Planning/Review (per 3 weeks): 18.00-21.00)
