Siemens Smart Infrastructure, Electrification & Automation (EA) business unit is headquartered in Wendell, NC. The EA Business Unit has a diverse portfolio of products, including, but not limited to, low-voltage MCC, CMR fuse saver, MV switchgear, MV circuit breakers, metering, power monitoring, power quality, and protective relay maintenance and systems of a standard nature.

We are looking for an Electromechanical Quality Control Technician 2 to join our team in Wendell, NC.

The Electromechanical Quality Control Technician 2 is responsible for independently performing advanced electrical, mechanical, functional, and visual inspections of medium-voltage breakers, low-voltage breaker assemblies, panel assemblies, and hi-pot units. This role troubleshoots test failures, verifies product conformance, supports quality investigations, and serves as a technical resource while maintaining Siemens standards for quality, safety, and reliability.

The ideal candidate is an experienced electrical tester or quality technician who can troubleshoot complex issues, interpret technical documentation, and work with limited supervision in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You'll Make an Impact By:

  • Independently performing advanced electrical, mechanical, functional, and visual inspections in accordance with approved specifications and procedures. 
  • Testing and inspecting medium-voltage breakers, low-voltage breaker assemblies, panel assemblies, and hi-pot units. 
  • Interpreting complex drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, bills of material, and test documentation to verify product conformance. 
  • Operating approved manual and automated inspection and test equipment safely and correctly. 
  • Performing hi-pot, continuity, insulation resistance, functional, and other assigned electrical tests in accordance with approved procedures. 
  • Troubleshooting test failures and product discrepancies, isolating likely causes, and coordinating resolution with Production, Quality, and Engineering. 
  • Documenting inspection findings, test results, non-conformances, rework verification, and product release status in applicable business systems. 
  • Supporting root cause investigations and corrective or preventive actions involving product and process quality. 
  • Serving as a technical resource for test methods, inspection standards, safe work practices, and product quality requirements. 
  • Supporting training and mentoring of less-experienced technicians and reinforcing standardized work. 
  • Recommending and supporting continuous improvement actions that reduce defects, rework, and testing delays.

Basic Qualifications:

·         High school diploma or GED; associate degree, military training, technical certification, or equivalent relevant experience is preferred.

  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing quality, electrical testing, inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, or a related technical role. 
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex technical documentation, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and work instructions. 
  • Experience using hand tools, measuring instruments, diagnostic equipment, and electrical test equipment to identify and troubleshoot product issues. 
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation, communication, problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality and safety. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, or a related field. 
  • Experience testing or troubleshooting medium-voltage breakers, low-voltage breakers, switchgear, panel assemblies, or industrial electrical equipment. 
  • Hands-on experience with hi-pot, continuity, insulation resistance, and functional performance testing. 
  • Experience investigating test failures, documenting non-conformances, and supporting corrective actions. 
  • Knowledge of electromechanical components, control circuits, and industrial power distribution equipment. 
  • Experience using SAP, Office 365, MES, ERP, or a similar business system. 
  • Working knowledge of electrical safety, lockout/tagout, and calibrated test equipment requirements. 
  • Experience serving as a technical resource or supporting the training of other technicians. 
  • Training or certification in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Root Cause Analysis, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.

The pay range for this position is 27.35 per hour. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
