Your role:
As an Electrical Protection Engineer, you will be part of our Smart Infrastructure – Electrification and Automation team in Milan, contributing to the development, testing, and commissioning of energy automation systems for medium- and high-voltage electrical substations and power plants.
Your day-to-day activities will include protection relay configuration, testing and commissioning activities, fault analysis, and close collaboration with engineering teams to deliver innovative and reliable energy automation solutions.
You'll make an impact by:
- Configuring protection relays, including SIPROTEC devices, according to functional and logic diagrams.
- Performing Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) of electrical automation systems.
- Supporting and executing Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) during commissioning activities.
- Analyzing fault recordings and disturbance waveforms using oscilloperturbographic records.
- Collaborating with the engineering team to develop innovative and smart solutions for energy automation systems.

Core Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in protection engineering or substation automation.
- Availability for business travel for site activities and commissioning.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and evolving environment.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Continuous learning mindset and passion for professional growth.
- Respect for diversity and willingness to collaborate and share knowledge.
- Proficiency in Italian and English.
- Eligibility to work in Italy.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with IEC 61850 and digital protection systems.
- Experience working with TSO or DSO organizations in the substation sector.

The Total Target Cash (Base + Variable) Pay Range for this position is €44000–€60000 annually. The actual offer will be determined within this range, based on the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
