
Electrical Hardware & Test Automation Engineering Intern (Python & PCB Design)

We are looking for a motivated Electrical Engineering student to join our team in Delft, Netherlands, as a Hardware & Test Development Intern. This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in hardware design, test system development, and test automation while working with industry-leading measurement technologies.
As part of the team, you will contribute to the development of a testing solution for analog PXI cards, combining hardware development, laboratory testing, and Python-based automation.
During this internship, you will work on the development of a complete testing environment for analog PXI cards. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and developing a hardware breakout board capable of interfacing with PXI cards and providing the necessary power connections.
- Supporting the development of a test setup that integrates the PXI card and breakout board with laboratory equipment, including power supplies, arbitrary waveform generators (AWGs), and oscilloscopes.
- Developing Python scripts to automate functional testing of PXI cards.
- Controlling external test equipment through software to execute and monitor test procedures.
- Collecting, processing, and documenting test results through automatically generated test reports.
- Performing testing and validation activities to verify hardware functionality and performance.
- Collaborating with experienced engineers while gaining practical experience in both hardware development and test automation.
Required
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience programming in Python.
- Experience designing printed circuit assemblies (PCAs) using Altium Designer or Mentor Graphics.
- Eligibility to work in the Netherlands.
- Your university or educational institution must provide academic credit for the internship.
- Availability to work on-site in Delft, Netherlands.
- Availability for a minimum internship duration of three months.

- Experience with hardware testing and validation activities.
- Interest in electronic hardware development and automated test systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on engineering mindset.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment.
