The Role Electric Engineering Intern in Drive Unit will have extensive hands-on experience.

We are seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented intern to be responsible of improvements in overall equipment efficiency, product yield, cost, and cycle time to ensure continuous production and enable world-class manufacturing of Tesla’s cutting-edge Drive Units. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a centralized library of electrical documentation.
  • Drive the implementation of equipment and machinery maintenance strategies.
  • Design and apply data-driven solutions for predictive maintenance.
  • Lead root cause analysis of electrical failures and machine breakdowns.
  • Advise on compliance with German electrical regulations and standards.
  • Coordinate and plan special maintenance activities and corrective repair campaigns.
  • Support supervisors in developing electrical qualification and upskilling programs for the maintenance team.
  • Collaborate in cross-functional teams to identify and implement organizational and technical improvements to maintenance workflows, tools, and system reliability.
  • Continuously improve preventive maintenance procedures and processes.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of EPLAN or similar electrical CAD software is a plus.
  • Familiarity with PLC programming.
  • Strong proficiency in English and/or German, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams.
