The group you’ll be a part of

You will be a key contributor to the WET Product Group, within the Engineering Operations Team, supporting Sabre 3D and Sabre products. The Engineering Operations Team reports within the WETS PG Engineering Department, so we are closely aligned with PG Engineering goals and objectives. We also work hand in hand with Electrofill Product Management Team and GPS / Quality. Engineering Operations operates in a very dynamic environment and is deeply engaged in numerous PG deliverables, and central to the PG’s success. You’ll be part of a very interactive team that offers independent areas of ownership while working within a tightly collaborative small team environment. The team highly values and encourages creative thinking, flexibility and continual improvement.

The impact you’ll make

Join Lam as an Electrical Engineer and you'll be at the forefront, designing and developing electronic solutions for advanced applications. Your role involves designing and analyzing equipment, conducting experimental tests, evaluating results to create reliable cutting-edge solutions. This Engineering Quality EE will have direct and highly impactful influence on Engineering Quality. You will solve real world problems, in a fast paced environment and provide solutions to internal and external groups. You will be involved in, and directly contribute to, highly impactful PG programs and projects. You will impact areas of direct concern to the customer.

What you’ll do

Design and develop electrical systems, sub-systems, and/or solutions, applying engineering methods to design.
Contribute to research and development efforts by collecting and analyzing data to improve electrical system designs.
Develop functional specifications for electrical/ electro-mechanical systems, cabling, sensors, etc.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering design teams to design and modify custom and OEM system components.
Perform hands-on test and validation utilizing lab equipment to characterization of the performance of the electrical/ electro-mechanical systems.
Prepare high-quality reports and technical presentations to clearly communicate design intent, analysis, and results to diverse audiences in design reviews.
Own specific and unique design projects sharply focused on improving Engineering Department Quality performance.
Have a high degree of ownership for driving engineering solutions and solving quality issues.
Own projects that are highly visible and have high impact to the customer.
Partner with SET, MFG, and GPS partners as engineering technical expert in the quality space.
Be responsible for Engineering ownership of key NCE/NCI and timely dispositioning of 8D’s.
Present out on progress in quality forum to engineering management.

Who we’re looking for

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience; or Master’s degree with 3+ years; or equivalent work experience.
Hands-on experience in electronic circuit design (analog, digital), signal and controls theory, development and associated electrical board design, troubleshooting and validation.
Solid understanding of AC/DC Power distribution systems.
In depth system level understanding of Electrical architecture, system integration, and applications.
Excellent working knowledge in Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and low voltage circuit design for power and control applications.
Expertise in application of power and controls technologies for systems automation.
Knowledgeable in CAD tools for circuit design and simulation (e.g., PCAD, ORCAD, ZUKEN, AutoCAD, Spice, ADS, HFSS).

Preferred qualifications

Working knowledge of applicable electrical safety standards and regulatory requirements for industrial equipment, such as NFPA 70/NEC, NFPA 79, UL, CE, SEMI, or IEC standards.
Ability to define functional requirements and execute in a dynamic team environment.
Familiar with design for serviceability, manufacturability, and reliability.
Highly proficient at troubleshooting systems with tools like network sniffers, protocol analyzers, and tool logs.
Experience in troubleshooting with problem-solving techniques such as 5 Whys, 8D, fishbone analysis, etc.
Excellent oral and written communication skills including technical presentations.
Experience in the semiconductor industry or related industries (industrial, automotive, military).
Flexibility to operate in several different areas of ownership, and being self-motivated, is a big plus.
Knowledge of the product history, or being able to determine it accurately, will be vital, as well as configuration dependencies.
Knowledge of program management methods and experience in Product Development & Release (PDR) procedures.

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
