Electrical Design Engineer – Electric Motor Development
About the Role
We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to support the development and lifecycle care of electric motors. You will work in a factory‑embedded R&D environment, combining electromagnetic design, simulation, data evaluation, and hands‑on collaboration with testing, production, and mechanical engineering.
The role requires strong physics understanding, data‑driven thinking, and motivation to deepen expertise in industrial motor development. It is ideal for an engineer with several years of experience who wants to strengthen both technical depth and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
Your Responsibilities
Motor Design & Simulation
- Contribute to the electromagnetic and electrical design of servo, linear, and torque motors
- Perform and interpret simulations (electromagnetic, thermal, loss, behavior under load) using internal or commercial tools
- Support parameter sensitivity studies, robustness evaluations, and component trade‑offs
Data Analysis & Product Performance
- Analyze test data, measurement results, and production feedback to identify improvement potentials
- Participate in root-cause analysis for electrical performance deviations or robustness issues
- Support continuous improvement of motor characteristics, efficiency, and stability
Development Process & Cross-Functional Work
- Contribute to requirements definition, documentation, and validation according to industrial development standards
- Collaborate closely with mechanical engineering, manufacturing technology, production, and quality to ensure DfM/DfA alignment
- Assist in the introduction of platform elements, variant development, and lifecycle enhancements
What You Bring
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar (mandatory)
- Experience in electric motor design (practical project or industry exposure required)
- Several years of engineering experience — mid-level—suitable for handling independent tasks with support available when needed
Technical Skills
- Solid understanding of electromagnetic principles, motor physics, materials, and losses
- Experience with electromagnetic and thermal simulations (Simcenter, Ansys, JMAG, MotorSolve or similar tools)
- Strong data affinity: ability to evaluate measurements, trends, and physical correlations
- Familiarity with:
- Teamcenter (PLM)
- Polarion (requirements/processes)
- Simcenter environments
- Understanding of motor testing and interpretation of characteristic curves
Soft Skills
- Analytical, physics‑driven problem solver
- Collaborative and comfortable working in a factory + R&D hybrid setup
- Clear communicator with an interest in learning and deepening expertise over time
- Structured, reliable, and proactive
Languages
- Romanian & English — fluent
- German — an advantage
What We Offer
- A role embedded directly in the motor factory, enabling rapid learning and fast feedback cycles
- Exposure to electric motor technologies
- Opportunity to develop strong simulation and data analysis skills
- Collaboration with global R&D teams and visibility across international projects
- A supportive environment for technical growth and long-term career development
