EHS Specialist, Model Y Assembly
Description
Tesla is seeking a highly motivated EHS Specialist to support Model Y Assembly and Seats Operations at Gigafactory Texas. This role is critical to driving EHS engagement, identifying and mitigating risks, and supporting operational stabilization within Tesla’s best-selling product manufacturing process.
In this role, you will provide field EHS support for Model Y Assembly and Seats Operations at Gigafactory Texas. You will reduce operational risk, close findings and build supervisor-led safety engagement as production scales. You will partner with Production, Maintenance, Engineering and EHS so Tesla can manufacture at volume without trading off worker protection.
Responsibilities
- Drive EHS performance through leadership engagement and alignment with business and EHS strategies
- Partner with stakeholders to identify, assess, and mitigate operational, health, safety, and environmental risks
- Conduct audits and inspections, document findings, and ensure timely corrective actions on time
- Analyze trends and apply risk-based methodologies to drive continuous improvement and reduce incidents
- Facilitate Learning Team investigations and implement sustainable corrective actions that address system-level causes
- Support pre-job planning, change management, and verification of controls for new, high-risk, and non-standard work
- Deliver EHS programs, training, systems administration, and cross-functional support to ensure effective EHS service delivery
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, or equivalent
- 3+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing, construction, oil & gas, or similar industrial environments
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across functions and drive results through teamwork, accountability, and action-oriented execution
- Experience developing EHS programs, delivering training, and leading change initiatives to reduce risk and improve performance
- Strong knowledge of hazard analysis, hazard communication, OSHA compliance, incident investigation, corrective action management, and powered industrial vehicle safety
- Working knowledge of industrial hygiene, ergonomics, machine safety, and environmental compliance requirements
- Strong organizational, customer service, and communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
