Description and Requirements

Lenovo’s Europe and META Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) team is hiring an EU ESG Due Diligence Compliance Specialist. This role will be part of the Europe and META ESG team, which is an integral part of Lenovo Global ESG and operates under Lenovo’s Global Legal team. The role is intended to coordinate, support, and enable cross-functional delivery rather than act as the sole owner of due diligence activities. This position will work closely with Global Supply Chain (GSC), Global Procurement, Legal, Corporate ESG, Business Units, and other internal stakeholders.

The successful candidate will act as Subject Matter Expert for EU due diligence compliance, focusing on the EU Battery Regulation and the CSDDD. Responsibilities include translating regulatory requirements into practical business processes — in close collaboration with other departments (mainly GSC) — supporting supplier data and evidence collection, ensuring audit and assurance readiness, and responding to customer, regulatory, and internal ESG requests.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Support the development (in close collaboration with other departments, especially GSC) of Lenovo’s EU due diligence compliance approach, including activities related to the EU Battery Regulation due diligence requirements and Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD).
  • Support the ongoing operation of Lenovo’s EU due diligence programs and work with Global Supply Chain, Global Procurement, Legal, Lenovo’s ESG focal points, business units, product teams, and other teams to support EU due diligence compliance, supplier engagement, data collection, and evidence management.
  • Coordinate cross-functional inputs and help ensure that EU due diligence activities are aligned with Lenovo’s existing governance, risk management, responsible sourcing, and ESG reporting processes.
  • Monitor relevant EU due diligence developments and support internal communication of key impacts, timelines, and business requirements.
  • Support audit, assurance, and customer request readiness by helping maintain appropriate documentation, process evidence, and reporting inputs related to EU due diligence programs.
  • Contribute to templates, process documents, training materials, and other practical tools that support consistent due diligence implementation across teams.
  • Support continuous improvement of due diligence, governance, documentation, and cross-functional ways of working related to EU due diligence programs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in sustainability, environmental science, law, compliance, supply chain, business, engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-7 years of experience in ESG, environmental compliance, responsible sourcing, supply-chain compliance, sustainability reporting, audit, legal compliance, or a related area.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in sustainability, environmental management, law, compliance, supply chain, business, engineering, or a related field.
  • Good understanding of ESG regulatory requirements and willingness to develop deep expertise in EU due diligence regulations, especially the EU Battery Regulation and CSDDD.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to collect, structure, validate, and explain complex supplier, compliance, and ESG data.
  • Experience with EU ESG regulations or frameworks such as the EU Battery Regulation, CSDDD, EUDR, CSRD/ESRS, EU Taxonomy, forced labor regulations, or product-related due diligence requirements.
  • Experience supporting supplier due diligence, responsible sourcing, human rights due diligence, environmental risk assessment, supply-chain transparency, audit readiness, or customer ESG requests.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional projects involving supply chain, procurement, legal, compliance, ESG, product, or business teams.
  • Knowledge of electronics supply chains, battery materials, manufacturing-related ESG topics, or relevant management systems such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, SA8000, RBA, or similar frameworks is an advantage.
  • Additional European language skills are welcome.
Benefits:
  • Meal Allowance
  • Employee Referral Bonus
  • AYCM Sport Pass Membership
  • Well-Being Allowance
  • Long Service Awards
  • Employee Assistance Program, e.g., for health, legal & financial consultancy
  • Internal E-learning Development Platform Available for Employees
